Does anyone else have one of these?

Digitech RP-80.

It lets you create your own effects. Has anyone made anything cool? Can you post the specifications? I want to program mine to sound like that effect in Brand New's Quiet Things and Thrice's Artist. But I don't know how.

It's great. It would be better if my amp didn't suck. I use about 10 of the 40 effects, give or take. Some of them just suck. I still have a desire to get a good chorus pedal or wah. The built-in chromatic tuner is a godsend. I don't know how I survived w/o it. You prob already have one of those though. The drum machine is cool, but I don't use it. It would work if I had two amps (you can connect two amps).

I'm a beginner so a lot of this information probably isn't useful.

The built-in Chorus and Wah just don't seem to cut it. They are like, variations on it. I can't figure out how to get a specific one-effect-only setting like just 'wah' or just 'chorus'.

I hope I made some sense at all.

Haha digital effects, eww.

I like the effect where you don't use the box.

Sorry I just find Digitech boxes and pedals in general to be sub par, especially effect boxes in general (ever tried a zoom?).

nail on the head...plus if you're a beginner don't go for fx. fx are the last thing i've tried on guitar, or should I say the most recent, and I've played for 7 years. the only effect i really like is the computer speak one that omar uses at the end of take the veil, cerpin taxt. such a cool effect.

Unfortunetely I was conned into DFX when I started the guitar. The guy amped up this Zoom box and having no idea what I was doing I took it.

I use Delay a lot, but I use a dedicated Delay pedal (My DD5 and DD3) for that, Wah can be fun too but that's about it.

Digital effects generally sound so tacky and hollow, you put them through a decent amp and the tone quality is gone.

I still use my Zoom though, as an onstage tuner :p
