The Getaway (http://www.thegetawayonline.com/) have posted a new song (http://www.myspace.com/thegetawaytoronto) online. For those that don't remember this is the band that forced Matchbook Romance into changing their name (they used to be called The Getaway as well).

I think matchbook had the song "ex marks the spot".
Probably the greatest breakup song ever.

"if i can't be the guy that you've always wanted me to be
if i can't say the words that you always wanted me to say
if i fall in the end, will you be holding on to me?
because you, you said you'd never leave me"

yeah. really fucking clever.

Not bad. "Only We Will Know the Truth" (from their website mp3s) reminds me of NU4AN.

haha yeah i remember when they were called fizzlewink and they'd often play at Club Culture with Next II Nothing. Next II Nothing had that song "I want my MTV" which was awesome.

This band is really good. They have this song "East End Blood Bath" on the comp. Punk Rock Is Your Friend 6 that i really liked.
So i recently got their 2004's Take It Back EP and it's so good (I love it).
I am so glad to hear news about them.
I like this new song.. I will be sure looking forward to a next release from these guys!
