Guitarist Chad Gilbert clears up a few things about the next New Found Glory (http://www.newfoundglory.com) record in this article (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1514103/20051118/new_found_glory.jhtml?headlines=tru e).

I am glad a band finally came out and said that their new stuff won't be more mature and darker. It seems like that is all we ever hear nowadays.

Regardless, NFG rules and I cannot wait to hear some new stuff. A June release will be perfect for driving around blasting the NFG sound with the windows down.

Agreed, I'm not a big NFG fan, but I'm looking forward to give this album a listen. Sticks And Stones was a good summer album, hopefully this will be too.

That just got me really excited. I love it when bands call their next record immature because:

1. I like immature music
2. People who listen to things that everyone else listens to won't think it is so called "cool"

never going to happen considering they haven't even recorded the record yet. im going to say early september-early november (possibly for MTV's spankin new music week).

Perhaps, but Chad did say in the article to look for a June release.

Thats awesome. NFG is one of the bands I wouldn't mind having their sound stay the same. They always are a lot of fun.

Oh have I missed these guys.

Has anyone been to the Before the Blackout After the Breakup tour? I'm going to the Seattle show and was wondering if anyone knew the order the bands play in?

denver harbor, day at the fair, houston calls, allister, and a very drunk fenix tx. in order. sometimes, allister plays last, and fenix tx plays before, but i dont know how its decided.

anyway, i cant wait to hear this cd, ive loved everything the band has put out.

there were obviously some issues between chad and the rest of nfg. maybe it'll be like the old nfg.

Can anyone explain to me why Chad left Shai Halud for NFG?

This is why NFG is my favorite band , I am not a huge fan of bands completly changing their sound, I dont know , but I just don't like it. I was pretty damn scared to hear new stuff but now im more pumped then ever , NFG is staying thue to who they are , staying true to all NFG fans. This is gonna be my summer album.

eveyone needs some immature music at one time or another.

well i'm about to shit my pants. i love me some nfg. they've yet to let me down even though the s/t is still my favorite, catalyst had its instant classics (at least im known for something, failures not flattering, all downhill from here, truth of my youth)

"This is the best stuff I've ever been a part of, and I love everything this band has ever done, even [the 1997 EP] It's All About the Girls, where [lead singer Jordan Pundik] sounds like a little girl," Gilbert laughed.

Hah...

I like NFG's self-titled and older material. Sticks and Stones and Catalyst did absolutely nothing for me. I still do love listening to their old stuff, though.

What would Ian do onstage if they were playing "mature" music?

Really nice article. Nice read indeed.
"At the end of the month, they'll post a demo of a new track on NewFoundGlory.com" <-- hope this is true!
"The way it's looking now, the new album should be out sometime in June" <-- hope this is true too!
Gotta love NFG! <3

EDIT: hmm.. i doubt both quotes above will be true. it will be more likely "new demo early '06" and "new album fall '06" =(
