Actually, it's pop punk. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it stupid.
Anyways, listen to Living With Lions, Jawbreaker, Lifetime, Daylight, Death is Not Glamorous, Face to Face, Title Fight, and This Time Next Year.

well, sorry if i offended anyone. but punk was invented to show emotion toward wrong doings and cruelties done to us and punk music was the means in which to express our feelings about the ordeals that are important to us, which, im sorry, pop music doesnt really quite fit in....sorry. just an opinion from someone who isnt just a trendy mother fucker and actually knows their shit....=/ haha
Well, if you like pop punk, try some early weezer, some early AFI, iggy pop and the stooges, generation X, teen idols, the ramones(obvious) and 3OH!3, haha but thats kinda cheesy. =) those would be the only mainstream bands i would know of..
maybe that will help more for your ignorant waste of cd purchasing?

Hot Snakes
I recommend "Suicide Invoice", but you can't go wrong with these guys. 3 solid legit albums.
If you do not take this recommendation, you are missing out.
Edit: just realized you are going after more pop-ish stuff. Still, do yourself a favor and take the rec.

No offense, but you come off as really arrogant. All music expresses emotions and a lot of it talks about "ordeals that are important" to people. Just listen to jazz. Most of it doesn't even have lyrics and yet it still seems to get the artist's emotions across. So what's the difference between someone saying "I miss that girl" and "I hate my parents and everyone" if it's all emotions? Pop punk doesn't mean mainstream and it isn't the same as pop music. Just listen to the Descendants. They're basically the first pop punk band, and yet the music is basically punk like other bands of the 80s.

Its not arrogance, its fact. punk music, folk music, jazz music yea, all of it has emotion little kid, but if you would re-read what i said, you might realize im not just talking about emotions. And i dont quite think a fourteen year old boys who's musical taste probly hasnt broadened very much or even began to find himself let alone his beliefs on political OR life choices matters. sorry.

So because I'm 14 my opinion is automatically discredited? It all sounds pretty arrogant to me. And you said yourself that punk is about emotions toward a certain subject. All music is emotional and most lyrics pertain to a certain subject, but just because it's not about rebellion, anarchy, or certain cruelties does not mean that the music is lesser than punk. Many bands touch on similar subjects as most punk bands, but the musical quality should automatically be ignored or denounced because it isn't punk? Everyone talks about things that are important to them. To go around making claims that a certain type of music is lesser than another seems very ignorant.

He's right, thats why there are different genres of music - obviously some people can connect better with certain lyrics or music. To say something is bad because it isn't labeled punk IS arrogant and it's ignorant.

So, ur obviously not reading what im saying. No, your oppinion isnt discredited because of your age, its more or less because your stupid. I dont even listen to punk music really anymore, i mainly listen to folk music and such. nothing in my statement says anything about other genres of music, and Your talking about pointless things that were not even brought up IN my statement. Ur the ignorant one, for creating facts that arent there that i "supposedly said"! ur dumb. shut the fuck up. please lol

Ok, so it was wrong for me to bring up a subject I felt was implied. I'm sorry for this. However, your argument in judging my stupidity is lacking due to the fact that you use improper grammar throughout the response, which, in turn, makes yourself look bad. I made a wrongful assumption, and I'll admit that, however, you did mention above that you felt my judgment was lacking because I am 14 and my "tastes haven't broadened yet". Yet now you go on to change your argument, claiming that I am stupid without having the physical evidence. Despite the fact that you are older than I, I feel as if I am handling this disagreement more maturely. I hope that in due time you can learn to move on from this, as I am proceeding to do. You should also look into typing/grammar classes, or, if you can use it correctly, please do so. Thank you for your time and I hope this got through to you and cleared some stuff up.

How exactly did I prove you right? I am confused at how me pointing out a grammatical error further backs your claims. I do, however, like the use of alliteration in that "insult", if that's what it was intended for.
