What do you guys think of Quietdrive (http://www.purevolume.com/quietdrive)? Their upcoming album, When All That's Left is You, was produced by Butch Walker. I can't wait to hear it.

I was under the impression they got cut down to an ep that isn't going to be released till 2006?

He only produced "Take a Drink" from the EP. He did the whole full length though I think.

i saw the with daphne loves derby and socratic. i was impressed by them live. i got the ep.
i'm definitley liking it. though three songs really isn't enough!
though the singer does act a lot like william beckett of TAI on stage. i told him that, too.

if he produced the full length, it honestly cannot be a bad album. never heard of these guys, but now i'll keep a watch out.

I found very little wrong with Forget What You Know, I thought it sounded great. I am not a fan of the guy who did the first starting line album, trombino was it? Anyhow, I thought these guys were really catchy, but over-produced easily marketable cathy. It sounds like a lot of the pop-punk and alternative rock I am hearing when ever I am around a radio. I think they will do well, they just aren't going to be uping any bars for the genre. And before anyone yells that it is good music for what it is, I agree, but give me Cartel or Anberlin any day over these guys, those bands are at least setting the standard much higher. Nice vocals though, maybe a little too much autotuning, but to be honest....what the hell do I know? He sounds good.

yikes. i hate how there's no low end on that CD. all the bass is in the mid-range...if you're listening to that CD with a subwoofer, virtually nothing comes out. it sounds way too thin for a band that thrived with fuller production (living well is the best revenge)

are you serious? compared to their other mediocre albums, i thought that Forget What You Know sounded absolutely brilliant. it is without a doubt my favorite Midtown album, and one of my favorite albums in general.
and his production particularly on his own work is nothing below amazing. he just knows how to take something and make it that much more special.

the singer sounds live the same he does recorded.
ps: forget what you know is my favorite midtown album.
i dont like what mark trombino does very much. he was great with clarity but i dont like what he did to a lot of the starting line songs that were originally recorded for we the people.

These guys are the biggest sellouts ever. They used to play Incubus-sounding pop-metal, then stole the identity of the singer's side project to go all out pop-punk and "get big". They sign with Epic and agree to go on the Puffy Ami Yumi tour....wtf. The singer is a dick who will do anything to be famous; totally one of those people who will suck up to fans while on tour but be a diva in regular life. Matt Kirby (one of the guitarists) is the only good part of this band; he's a sweet guy. Also, to be fair to them, they took that picture long before Cartel did (even though they aren't that similar).

Living Well is the Best Revenge is brilliant. The production fits their sound perfectly. Butch cut all the low end out of Forget What You Know. It sounds shallow, lifeless, and hollow. Each to their own, but I have always hated what Butch did to an otherwise excellent album.

hah, funny you should say kirby is the only good part, as he wasn't even around when those other demos were recorded, but he was in the 'side-project' they all 'stole.'
anyway, i've seen them like 15 or so times live, and i'm not saying theyve created a new music genre or anything, but their concerts are fun, their music is fun, and i personally think they're a great group of guys, obviously. i'm psyched for their cd to come out, whenever that ends up being.
and why does every somewhat friendly lead singer get a diva rep?? from what i've seen of kevin, he's a cool guy, but the term diva isn't really fitting....

nah, 3 of the guys went to high school together and were in a band called fury, and then kevin [the singer] joined up, and they were using the quietdrive name in like 2002 and possibly before [? not sure of exact dates]. kevin and matt formed s2b, recorded leaving dramatics, and then both bands merged and played as s2b for awhile. earlier this year, they were the neverending [for a very short time], and now they're quietdrive again.

Quietdrive is on fire...Their EP kicks...Their live performances are even better....and their personalities and wanting to get to know their fans is class. They will be great...mark my words

I thought the same thing when i heard FWYK the first time.
That material is good, but sounds much better live.
It's very flat and doesn't jump at you the same way Living Well does.
LWITBR has no flaws and it is the penultimate midtown record, as it shows them in their prime with some of the best song writing i've seen in a pop-punk band.
Oh yeah, Quietdrive is alright.
The first song is the strongest.
Overall they remind me of Days Like These.

Actually quietdrive started out as quietdrive, changed it to Sneaker2Bombs, then The Never Ending for about 2 days, then back to quietdrive.

No, you dreamed it and then somehow it appeared in print. Now go find out how that happened, explain
what you find out, and then share something enlightening with the rest of us, rather than make demeaning remarks or at least, meaningless remarks.

why don't you take a break from putting ointment on your bruised vagina and learn how to take a joke? or maybe get a sense of humor that doesn't involve having a stick jammed up your ass. i'll stop making 'demeaning remarks' the second people stop deserving them.
