has "Got TO"

the beauty of Chad Johnson is that he is extremely arrogant about his football talent. However, not only does he go out on the field and prove that he is just that good, in an interview with ESPN, he shows that in reality he is modest and still has the utmost respect for those that he beliefs are still a notch above him in the game.

he's one of my favorite players in the league. he talks big, and plays even bigger. i don't remember in what interview he said this, but he was talking about how he'd never disrespect an opponent, he's just out there to have fun- the biggest difference between chad and t.o.

I remember him asking Brett Favre for his jersey after the game and helping him off the field. Chad Johnson is becoming one of my favorite players. He's cocky but backs it up and he never disrespects anyone. Hes just out there having a good time. I thought it was hysterical when he proposed to the cheerleader.

Did you see before the Packers/Bengals game, Chad went to Favre, gave him a big hug and then asked him if he could throw him a pass in pre-game warm ups. SUPER respectful to everybody, and you wouldn't expect it out of a WR as talented and outspoken as he. I have to say the list of "Who covered #85 in 2005?" with all the cornerbacks listed on it, is the funniest thing I have ever seen in professional sports. Also, when he makes his claims, he never involves his team, it's always "I guarantee...that I won't be stopped"(in reference to the Colts/Bengals game) or the list he made- he takes the pressure off his teammates and puts it on himself, regardless if he is a receiver. I love the hell out of the guy. One last thing that I have to say is that if the Bengals make it into the AFC Championship game(against the Colts) and make a game of it(or win, which I doubt)...instead of Palmer getting MVP, I think Johnson should because of everything he is to that team. Without him, they are a .500 team, 6-4 at best. They've won a lot of close games this year with big days from C.J.

MVP is given out right before wild card weekend. And if any WR deserves it this year, it's Steve Smith. Guy's been incredible this year. He is the Carolina offense.

TO is the Dennis Rodman of the NFL. Has tons of talent but runs his mouth too much until one day no one wants him anymore because he brings teams down.

Not true. A couple years back when KC came in undefeated he guaranteed a victory. The Bengals did stnap KC;s run. If you notice when he was guaranteeing that he wouldnt be stopped by the Colts, he paused after guarantee cause everyone thought he was going to guarantee a victory. But yes, Chad is the man.

that's cause he's matured since then and he knows not to guarantee things for the team, only for himself

Good thread, better guy. SI had an articale on him last week too. I gained so much respect for him. I hope his team does well. I had a blast watching him run all over smoot and the vikings. It's too bad Smoot didn't learn to shut his mouth because smith burned his ass all over the place too. I don't think Johnson can take the MVP though.
