From Ryan Murphy, the creator of Nip/Tuck and Popular, comes GLEE, a one-hour musical comedy that follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the school’s Glee Club and inspire a group of ragtag performers to make it to the biggest competition of them all: Nationals.

McKinley High School’s Glee Club used to be at the top of the show choir world, but years later, a series of scandals have turned it into a haven for misfits and social outcasts. Will, a young optimistic teacher, has offered to take on the Herculean task of restoring McKinley’s Glee Club to its former glory with the help of a fellow teacher. Seems like the next Popular/Freaks and Geeks/Arrested Development - a legit, quirky comedy that no one will watch. Anything with Jane Lynch (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0528331/) makes me happy. There's a "special preview" on May 19th, no news on the official start date (that I could find).

They're previewing it after the Idol finale, so they should get a pretty big audience from that, plus both shows cater to similar demographics. If they market this enough, which they seem to be doing, and stick it in a decent time slot, it should do well.

The Journey cover is just short of amazing. Maybe I'm the only one, but I really enjoyed the show a lot. Didn't think I was going to, but it was just good.

i didnt think i would enjoy it either, i thought it was fall flat. But after thinking about it for a pilot that went really well. Usually shows start off really rocky not finding their footing. Glee had a lot of good dynamics happening between their characters. And the casting went really well, everyone flowed together nicely

there's plenty of room for more jane lynch, and i think there will be. it would have been kinda hard to establish her more in the pilot than they already did though. did a decent job of introducing everybody without cramming too much in.

i'll give it a few full episodes before i fully judge it, but most shows don't even get that from me, so it's got that going for it. seems like it will be one of those that aren't anything great, but highly enjoyable at the same time. and some of my favorite shows are like that.

Yea, I'm kind of nit-picky with stuff like that. I was more annoyed that they were in a clearly large room and the singing somehow magically had no echo at all. That and that was the whitest version of "Gold Digger" I've ever heard. It's an OK show, though.

It seems rushed because they originally only had a limited number of episodes this season and they just got the episode number extension.

And I know a lot of people are hoping Puck turns out to be gay, but I don't think that's happening since he seems hung up on Quinn.

Have to be honest, I haven't watched any full episodes since the early premier in the Summer (which I thought had good music and a decent premise, but was pretty chessy--I understand that it's supposed to be campy and all that, but it was still a little over the top for me--and had just decent actors), but when I was home this weekend, I watched a few of the musical numbers from the episodes saved on my DVR. I was pretty impressed, but the icing on the cake to me was hearing about their cover of Queen's "Somebody To Love," which is one of my all time favorite songs. I didn't watch it in the show, but I found the song online.

I think their cover is really good. I might have to actually start watching this show just so I am up to date on their covers. Plus, it seems like there are some legit actors in the cast who could be tolerable. Anybody who actually watches the show care to weigh in on how the more recent episodes compare to the pilot?
