Downtown Battle Mountain is the best album by either of these bands.
Emarosa. Though DGD have incredible potential if they drop that irritating screaming.

this should have been more specific. Dgd when jonny and sean where there? or when jon and eric where there? or only matt and will as the original members? 2007 dgd wins all, but thats long long gone.

neither, but there's an E in my last name, while there aren't any D's in my name at all, so Emarosa wins by default.

The screamer is gone. Dance Gavin Dance is better hands down.

Downtown Battle Mountain was so good, and Antlion is one of my favorite songs. Good enough to warrant a vote for DGD. Aside from Jonny's vocals, DGD has always had more interesting guitar work.
I hope Emarosa can do a little better with their next album, though I enjoyed Relativity.

DGD by a long shot.

the fact that their genres and musical styles could not be any farther apart, makes the comparison utterly stupid.

I really was expecting more of Relativity because I like Jonny Craig's vocals on Downtown Battle Mountain and I also love Circa Survive-esque atmospheric post hardcore but they didn't do it as well as I hoped. Maybe the new album will be more interesting.
Comparatively, DGD's last album was very uneven and some of the screaming lyrics were ridiculous, but many of their actual songs were phenomenal and a huge jump from Downtown.
Dance Gavin Dance, easily.

Downtown Battle Mountain was a really good album. The self titled though was really lacking on lyrics. Relativity was a decent album....it was essentially a solo album by Jonny Craig. Went with DGD

It's Johny's voice. Can't get over it.

Agreed so much, except I didn't really vote because they are essentially the same band.
