I felt sad when I noticed this band didn't have a thread. I saw them when my sister took me to a Q and Not U show in 03 or 04, and they were great. Quite possibly my favorite Dischord band, any fans?

I can't tell you how happy it made me to see a thread for this band. I borrowed their self-titled from a friend forever ago and have listened to it a lot, but I never got a chance to check out Cough. Hopefully I'll pick them both up on vinyl someday. "Deformative" is such a great song.

I guess I'm late to everything cool. I picked up Cough last night, and after a few spins, I'm in love. This is good shit. I like when Punk integrates elements of Jazz, and it faintly resembles Naked City (just noisier). I approve so hard.

I find Cough to be so much better than the self-titled. S/T is solid, but the more minimal sounds and use of horns makes Cough the preferred effort. Watersports is okay (the comparison isn't necessarily apt other than the tenuous link of former bandmates), but I'd much rather listen to Black Eyes.

Also, that's the point I was trying to make: the album just leaked, so I'd hesitate to name it a "top of the year" candidate this far (though maybe it just destroyed Brian with awesome or something and he took right to it. I don't know, but I wouldn't give him shit for it. It's all, like, opinion and shit).
