View Full Version : "All I Have To Offer Is My Own Confusion" vs "Not Without A Fight"
The comparisons started somewhere in the Fireworks leak thread - I'm not going to read all 30 pages to find out where exactly.
So, which do you think is better? Personally, the Fireworks album bored the living hell out of me, and I really enjoyed NWAF.

The new Fireworks record is amazing BUT you can't compare it to Not Without A Fight. NWAF is just a hell of a record and definitely a top 10 record at the end of the year.

Both albums bore me, though I find myself listening to Fireworks' disc more than NFG's.

i listen to the new fireworks several times a day, its pop punk at its finest if you ask me.
My god, if anyone thinks this Fireworks album is "pop punk at its finest", the genre might as well be dead. I can understand if you like the album, but it is nowhere near "pop punk at its finest."

because NFG's new cd isn't very good. NFG is slowly turning into a day to remember. pop punk with heavy breakdowns sounds stupid. theres a few good songs but seriously...

No, they're not. Idiotic, incorrect statement. Sorry to be so blunt, but no.
Sorry man, I wish it wasn't true but honestly if you don't realize the similarities with their cheesey open chord breakdowns and song structure then you really need open your ears.
They both have breakdowns and fun songs, but that hardly means New Found Glory, who helped pioneer their genre and continue to prove that they're at the top of it, are turning into A Day To Remember, who are just straight-up cheese rock with no substance whatsoever.

Not Without A Fight for sure. Just a good and fun album to listen to from start to finish.

I mean... I doubt they listen to ADTR, and even if they did I doubt they are trying to sound like them, but I still think the similarities are right there for ya to see. In previous releases there weren't blatent lame sounding metalcore breakdowns. I know NFG helped pioneer blah blah... i loved them when I was younger and still enjoy almost all their cds but some of the songs on the new cd sound like lame "pop mosh." They seem to have taken more influences from metalcore than actual hardcore for not without a fight. just my 2 cents.

NFG? Turning into A Day To Remember???? You can't be serious....ADTR wouldn't have anything if it weren't for NFG

I don't care if this thread is old, you're a fucking moron. Did you seriously just say that New Found Glory has "blatant metalcore breakdowns"?

you should google the lineup to the easycore tour they headlined in late 2008. adtr opened for them, jordan sang live every night on one of their songs with them, and chad produced adtr's homesick. perhaps taking out bands like set your goals, four year strong, and a day to remember on tour may have affected the way they went about writing NWAF, its a possibility
