But does anybody think it's really his fault? Have the post-Barry Sanders Lions ever really been a contender? Three #1 picks in a row for WR's...Charles Rogers is addicted, Roy Williams is injury prone and I haven't heard much from Mike Williams. Why not get a QB? or a blue-chip RB?

I really don't think Mariucci is to blame. It seems like management issues. Anybody else?

I hope he comes to Green Bay, then Brett will stay.

i agree, mariucci is a good coach, the management looks like they are messing things up. they spent 3 first round picks on recievers and none have produced, same for their QB, they need a line that can block. The defense looks like it's a player or two away from being pretty good. Its a shame, detroit was one of my favorite teams when they had Barry...

a blue-chip RB? Don't knock Kevin Jones. He's damn good.
They're a set of offensive tackles, a decent veteran receiver (for the purpose of teaching Rogers, Williams and Williams how things go in the NFL and getting those key receptions) and a decent QB (or a matured Harrington) away from being a decent team.

Jones is awesome, I'll give you that. But he's not the sort of RB (a la Barry Sanders) that can shoulder a mediocre team to the playoffs. Very few RB's manage that feat. I love K Jones...he was great at VTech and could be a pro-bowl featured back for a well-managed team.

Any chance Mooch will go to Green Bay? I'd hate for Favre to end on a season like this. Everyone is saying "he'll hang up his cleats", etc. but it hasn't been his fault. Granted he has more INT's this year, but c'mon...who's the guy throwing to? where's the line? and they are on their 5th string RB!

They need a line. Period. No QB can get the ball to the right places if they get knocked around the way Garcia did yesterday.

Barry Sanders should be the new GM.

Mooch sucks. He has a gay relationship with Garcia, his offense is weak, and his gameplan is horrible. Why take out Harrington when he's accurate, but his dumb receivers can't catch or the line can't block? His buddy Garcia did no better. Why take out Kevin Jones after a 20 yard run and use some scrub that fumbles? 5 touches for your #1 RB? Pathetic. Everyone should have saw yesterday how bad of a coach he is in Detroit.

Fire Mooch and Millen. Get someone that will actually be tough on those underachieving young players.

In his defense, Jones left w/ an injury after only 32 yards. You can't win without a running game, especially when you have a Harrington/Garcia duo at QB. Millen should be the 1st one to get the hook since he's f'ed up multiple drafts with busts.

They're only busts because Mooch doesn't know how to coach them. Did you watch the game? They said the receivers still don't know how to practice. That falls on the coaching staff. And the part of the Detroit team that really sucks is the offense, supposedly Mooch's specialty. He's just not a good coach.
