Steve (drummer) of Further Seems Forever (www.furtherseemsforever.com) recently address the band's status:
"There are no plans at this time with FSF. We are basically on hiatus and there has been talk about doing a tour next year around March or April possibly. I am doing a new music project with Jake, formerly of 238 and Moments In Grace and a couple other guys, and it is coming together quite well and there will be more news about us to come down the road, but other than that, everyone is doing fine. We had that big hurricane that happened down here, which all of us are recovering from. I hope you are well. I heard about some tornados in the midwest. Take care and Cheers. -Steve"

He's a good singer, but with all the shit that goes on in an FSF song you have to have a voice that demands attention.

I agree - he is a good singer - I love that song I Refuse by Sense Field - but putting him in with the FSF boys was a bad call.......

I love Jaosn Gleason, however, ActionReaction are a complete let down. That style of music cant allow Jason to use his voice to it's full potential (hold out long notes, yell, etc) and that's just a total waste.
I actually enjoyed hide nothing.

i agree. i respect him and what he did in sensefield, but he just wasn't right for FSF, in my opinion. his melodies were really predictable, and i never really got into his lyrics much.

They will tour with Chris. Thats my prediction. Maybe never another record, but there wil be a tour with Chris, maybe even a Chris Carraba extravaganza with Dashboard and FSF.

Correct me if I'm wrong, which I very well may be, but didn't FSF have all the music and melodies written before Jon joined?
I think Jon's a great singer, and gets way too much shit. Ok, so maybe he's not as good as Gleason, but how many people are?
I don't know, it just bugs me that people think he sucks.

I think Jon Bunch was terrific with FSF. You know that one sense field song where he used the same lyrics in the FSF song? "You know me better than I do? It's better if you lead the way." That was kinda weak how he recycled that. But other than that, Hide Nothing was awesome. I like all the FSF albums equally -- they're all good in a different way.

Ok, you're wrong (no offense). Listen to "There, Now I've Said It" (which is Gleason's version of the song) then listen to "Bleed" which is Jon's version of the song. The music is the same, but the melodies are different... and Jason's version is so, so, so, so much better. I don't like Jon in FSF. I think Hide Nothing is a good CD, but not great. He's too laid back, he lacks passion and aggression that Chris and Jason had.

While I thought Gleason's melody was better, his lyrics were horrible for that song. I dunno, I lost so much respect for Jason that it is hard for me to really appreciate his talents anymore. I have always thought Jon is assumed to be less "passionate" and "aggressive" than Chris or Jason simply because of his vocal style, ie, he isnt constantly straining the shit out of his voice. He is just a completely different style of singer.

Bunch's lyrics for 'Bleed" are the worst FSF lyrics I've ever heard, so agree to disagree.

I predict tour with Chris in March/April that will probably be their last. We have to face it, these guys aren't getting any younger and the blasting they got from the last cd is going to be hard to recover from. They're still my favorite band, seeing them at bamboozle was such a pinnacle for me. I wish they'd do a final tour with all three singers, having like a two-hour set, and do songs from every album. A boy can dream.

So you're telling me NOT to judge the band off of the songs they chose to release? They shouldn't have publically released the tracks they did if they don't accurately reflect what their true sound is like, especially considering those tracks marked the band's public debut. My excitement for ActionReaction's EP has gone down immensely due to their poor decision to debut with songs that sound like crap.
by the way, it's TwoThirtyEight, not 238.

steve did say something about a tour in march/april as a possibility, so that would be sweet if it was carrabba as the lead singer! Jon was good with FSF but he didn't have the energy that Jason had, but he was still good both times i saw them. I think he was happy to help the guys out in FSF so they could continue to make music. AND the reason they did they got a new singer and didn't break up after Jason left is because of the fans. they love or loved their fans and when everyone started blasting them, i'm sure it was hard on them. I hope they can maybe do at least another tour or 2 as well as maybe one more cd and a greatest hits. we'll see what happens though.

Although, I do have to agree with Rohan. Jon Bunch got alot of shit, but I thought he did a great job. I will honestly admit that I enjoy Hide Nothing more than I do The Moon Is Down.
I think that Jon, as a singer for a CHRISTIAN band, did the best job at writing CHRISTIAN lyrics. By far. I just can't deny how good Gleason's lyrics were.
Either way, I'm bummed Jon won't be back, but I hope he does something new soon. I love the hell out of his voice.

Wow dude, settle down. Actually, every single song on that EP sounds completely different, so those songs represent just 1 track on the CD, each of them. I can't say there's any 2 songs that sound alike. I see your point, though.
Calling twothirtyeight 238 in a news post isn't abbreviating. It's spelling the band name wrong. It would look a little wrong to you if somebody posted news about Sum Fourty One, wouldn't it?

thank you for the update Steve, and for this site for posting it. i miss the guys and am looking forward to a tour (possibly the farewell tour?) and im glad steve isnt staying put; he's still using his awesome drumming skills in a new endeavor. FSF has blessed us in the past, and may they continue to do so somehow in the future
p.s. i respect each of the three FSF vocalists for different reasons - and TMID is one of the best records ever.

Jon didn't leave. Steve didn't say anything about jon or him leaving. He just said the band was on hiatus right now. And this info wasn't "leaked". I just e-mailed steve to ask what the band was up to and if they had any plans to write/record a new album in 06' or do any tours and the original post that was posted here is what he sent back to me. basically, they posted the reply i got from steve. that's about all. maybe i'll hear back from him again sometime with another update.

FSF is my favorite band and The Moon Is Down changed the way i think about music. Although i feel that the past two albums havent been as enjoyable they were both very solid and can stand alone in their own right. Whatever they choose to do i'm sure it will be in the best interest of their families first, but somewhere in there i'm sure it will include music. Steve is sick on the drums, i'm interested in hearing some of this new project.
