the whole epic thing was kind of a joke anyways... i mean don't get me wrong this is total fantasy metal (best descrption thanks to scott weber) and they are rad as shit... but i would think mastodon is more of an epic metal band.

new acts like Trivium, 36 Crazyfists, and Still Remains are carrying on the great metal tradition

Sonata Arctica and Rhapsody are pretty sweet also. Black Sheep by SA and Emeral Sword by Rhapsody are two of my favorite songs of all time.

Somehow Roadrunner, like some other labels...say....Drive-Thru, have some of the best bands in the industry, as well as some of the absolute worst. Roadrunner has/had bands like KSE and Glassjaw, but also has Nickelback (I don't care what anyone thinks...they are NOT metal!). Wasn't Creed on Roadrunner for a bit too? I don't understand how A&R reps at labels can sign bands that are so good and bands that are so bad. It doesn't make sense to me.

no, and roadrunner never claimed nickelback as a metal band. as for someone saying the bands on roadrunner are "cheese", then i would really like to know what kind of metal they listen to, because roadrunner has some of the greatest metal acts ever. revolutionary
