My band is having trouble agreeing on a name so I thought I'd post a poll to see what other people think...

Broken Ground is the best of the three, but you can come up with something better than those.

Steer away from the Latin. Turning to another language for no reason just comes off as lazy.

And if you have to specify pronunciation, don't use it. You don't want a "The Oneders" situation.

perhaps Kung Fu Action grip would be a good choice. or what about Retractable Death (to take back death - it's a form of english)

Hahaha, we'd have lots of fans in the neo-nazi community!

If you named your band Devoveo, people would pronounce it dee-vo-vee-oh. It would get annoying to correct people constantly.

They're all pretty neat ideas. But veritas is overused imo.

All of these are lame. You should name your band Chemical Toilet. If that doesn't appeal to you here are some other possible candidates.

Viet-goddamn-nam
Holocaust victim in Pageant Makeup
A Beautiful Dance With a Chainsaw
Bang-Maid
Fighter of the Night Man
Glue is For Huffing
Wow. You kind of overdid it there with the IASIF references.

Technically it is, but by a bunch of obscure bands on myspace (Which is basically what we are haha). But if problems arise, we'll make a small change to the name or just go ahead and alter it right off the bat. Right now, its looking like our name will probably be Veritas.

You'll run into issues later no matter how obscure. So just know that you'll have to be fine with Veritas-182.

That Thing You Do reference =

And yeah, Devoveo sounds cool once you show us how to pronounce it, but that would definitely confuse people.

Depends on what your band is like.

I appreciate everyone voting and leaving feedback / criticism (Well, most of it)

I understand that these aren't the most appealing names in the world but there are hundreds of bands with names that are somewhat dumb but it doesn't matter because they're music is more important than their name. I bet Geoff Rickley experienced some naysayers when he told his friends he wanted to name his band Thursday.
