sum 41 because... um... all killer and no filler had three good songs?
theguy77
04/05/09, 10:33 PM
hahaha, does this look infected was my jam one time... and then i turned 14.
all i can think of is how fucking awful a song from underclass hero was. theres a song from it on madden 08 and i never thought it possible but sum 41 is actually even worse at making their own style of music now than they used to be. most poorly constructed song by a "professional" band ive ever heard, and thats not an exaggeration.

sorry sums.
i've kinda grown out of both these bands. so i take the best of each of them, Chuck vs Papercut Chronicles.
I skip chuck more on my ipod.

i picked gym class heroes. i enjoyed the papercut chronicles more than all killer no filler.
I still like Sum 41 -- make fun of me, but I do
Nothing wrong with that. This thread just prompted me to listen to All Killer. Still has staying power.

Easily sum 41
this is terrible, the starting line should of been put against one of these bands instead, so tsl could make it to the next round.

Gym Class Heroes for me, I always thought Travis was an awesome lyricist.

I still listen to sum41's old stuff... again, it all goes back to when I was in highschool... sum41 was huge.
besides, I wasn't too thrilled when I saw heroes live...

chuck is one of my all-time favorites, and does this look infected was amazing. didn't care much for their other stuff. i can't stand gym class heroes, though.

I still do too, I didn't like Underclass Hero but that definitely didn't make everything before it any less enjoyable. What's up with all the Sum 41 hating?
On a side note, I was listening to Does This Look Infected a lot today and Chuck a lot lately. Definitely Sum 41 on this poll.

I don't hate UCH, but it's certainly trying to be American Idiot.
I am a huge fan of DTLI and Chuck, though -- I like when they do their pop-punk/metal sound.

How is Sum 41 not beating GCH by more?
Don't like either anymore, but Sum 41 was one of my favourite bands when I was younger, so I gave my vote to them.

Ugh.
Gym Class because they at least have one song I like.

04/06/09, 03:52 AM
As for GCH I never could get into them and find their style of music laughable. Rock rap will always be shit no matter who makes it. Guitars and rap just don't mix for me and every time I think of the combination, Fred Durst's turd burglar grin pops up in my mind singing Break Stuff accompanied by ICP.
I'm not a fan of Gym Class Heroes and much of the Rap-Rock stuff anymore, but still:
q6UXqjYzrOI
That and The Roots should not mean every single combination of guitars and rap sound like Fred Durst and ICP fucking each other in the arse while singing Break Stuff.

Sum 41 use to be my jams way back when.

Why couldn't you guys split this up and put Relient K against GCH and The Graduate against Sum 41?
Both of these bands suck. Can't even vote on this one.

I picked Sum 41, because they are more consistent. The Papercut Chronicles was one of the best albums released when it came out, and now look what they have become.
WFUJerseyJon
04/06/09, 07:09 AM
Hmmm, both had 2 awesome first releases but have disappointed me personally with what they put out after. Gym Class due to the fact thay they've only put out 1 less than stellar album for me, where Sum 41 has put out like 3 in a row now.
zubinmoosa
04/06/09, 07:12 AM
Sum 41 by a landslide.

04/06/09, 08:15 AM
This one was tough, both have put out good and solid releases, both have put out pretty bad releases. A few years ago I would have gone with Sum 41, but my tastes right now I prefer Gym Class.

You would be correct -- their second and third albums are my favorites (not counting Half Hour of Power since it's an EP).
