i don't know how many people actually check out anything posted on this forum, and i see lots of 0 replies, but might as well give it a shot.

we're called his hideous heart. don't let the name fool you, we know it sucks but we can't agree on what to change it to. we started out trying to emulate some of our favorite instrumental post-rock bands, but moved on to something new once we actually learned how to write songs. if you can imagine a band like This Will Destroy You or Caspian writing indie pop songs with a cello and more riffs, you're heading in the right direction. we dig stuff like godspeed you! black emperor, explosions in the sky, the appleseed cast, thursday, death cab for cutie, and broken social scene, so it might sound sort of or nothing like any of those bands. i dont know, you tell me.

we're a band of kids who grew up together outside cleveland ohio and now live all over the eastern half of the U.S. we recorded an EP/albumette/thing of 6 songs called 'Only The Earth Can Make a Tree' in july with Casey Crescenzo and Andy Wildrick of The Dear Hunter in Providence, Rhode Island. you can stream the entire record on our myspace (http://www.myspace.com/hishideousheart) (http://www.myspace.com/hishideousheart%29). we'll be releasing the album for free on April 9th, but if you do enjoy the tunes and don't mind parting with a little of your hard-earned scratch, the album will also be available on iTunes Plus (hi-quality mp3s, no DRM) for about 6 bucks; or you can just get the album from us and make a donation. we'll be handmaking the physical copies at a later date as well for a price TBD.

we should be playing around the midwest a decent amount this summer; come check us out if you're in the mood. we are friends with lots of great bands and we like to have a good time.

thanks for listening

cheers,
brian HHH
