I'm pretty sure they are because Steel Train doesn't have any dates scheduled during that time, but I really don't have any news or confirmation to say that's accurate.

Jack won't be on tour with fun.
It'll be Nate and Andrew plus Rob (guitarist from the Jack's tour), a new bassist and drummer, and Jess (who plays guitar, keyboard, and "has the voice of an angel" - who I'm going to most likely fall in love with).
that's interesting Jack won't be on tour, but it's great to hear it's full band. the newsletter said we might "In the process maybe we'll play a couple of other songs you might have heard from years past." I hope they pull out some format.
I'm really stoked on this tour. Everyone definitely needs to check out Winston Audio if you haven't.

Cool. Is Jack ever going to tour with them, or is he just gonna be in the studio. I love Steel Train, but it would be cool to see all of fun. together.

Looks like someone beat me to the set list. fun covered "The First Single" and "Snails", which was pretty cool. Andy pwned some douchebag who tried to mosh during "Shake It Out". Also, Andy started playing" I Can Feel a Hot One" and then stopped because he forgot how to play it. This made me sad. Also, the lack of "Where Have You Been?" was a bit dissapointing. Other than that, fantastic show.
ps: the Wilco song they covered was "Bob Dylan's Beard" Also, the ?'s alluded to in the above set list just seemed to be little vignettes that weren't and will never be actual MO songs. For instance, one of them concluded with the words, "fuck my life.com"

b) That sucks they aren't playing WHYB, but they've gotta be so freaking sick of it. I hope MO fans don't turn into douche Thrice fans and scream out old songs the entire freaking show.

A) he added a verse to "shake it out" in which he talked about how rude/lame it was
B) true, although I saw them 2 years ago it still would have been nice to see. I'd have also liked to see "I can feel a hot one". Other than that, their setlist was almost flawless

I've seen them about 6 or 7 times now and this was one of the most energetic, if the not THE most energetic performances I have seen them put on. Where have you been probably clocked in at around 8 or 9 minutes in length was awe-inspiring. Andy seemed to be having a great time (except for his interactions with one drunk douche) but he took it in stride and made the crowd laugh about it quite a few times.
The openers were both very good as well. I really recommend this tour to anyone who has the time to go to it.

Ottobar set looks good, but I hope the one posted from the Nasville show is more like what they do at the Boston show. A 60/40 ratio between new and old material would be perfect.
anybody here go to the show in richmond? MO was good, but the crowd was the lamest i've ever seen. the place was maybe half full and nobody moved the entire show. very disappointing. andy and the rest of the guys actually made fun of themselves/the crowd at how lame it was, and there were really no "awesome" moments like wordz reported

Just got back from the new york show, greatest performance I have ever seen.
Manchester's set was pretty much the philly one that was posted, the cover had the lyrics in heaven repeated, I'm not sure what it was also they played Me and Julio earlier in the set. No badges, no 100 dollars - Also someone requested The Neighborhood is Bleeding and Andy said they've never played that song live - they recorded it live but they have forgotten how to play it (just what he said, I'm not saying it wasn't a joke who knows)
The extended version of where have you been is amazing - adds the lyrics Don't kill yourself to raise the dead you'll only end up joining them which I am sure is homage to Kevin Devine because they've toured with him at the end of this song Andy threw his guitar into the drumset and walked off.
I waited until security told me to leave, there was no encore nor did they have setlists - but I got a drumstick?
I did get Fun's setlist and they played Snails which was great:
At Least I'm Not
I Wanna Be The One
Pretty Girls
Snails
First Single
Walking The Dog
Benson Hedges
Take Your Time

Take Your Time
An amazing show. The song with heaven is called "Anne Louise". It's not a cover song, it's a b-side on their EP Fourteen Years of Excellence. Someone shouted for it, he smiled and started playing. Audrye Sessions played the shit out of the last song entitled "Nothing Pure Can Stay" I recommend everyone checking them out. And see a bright future for fun, including my summer album of 2009. It sounds great. Winston Audio was also really good, they played this slow song Reaction/Action which was amazing. Overall Manchester stole the show, phenomenal performers and one of the best shows I've been to in a long time.

I went to the NYC show a few days ago--I really enjoyed Winston Audio. Audrye Sessions was probably my least favorite set of the night but their last song was awesome. Fun was, well, fun--and Manchester, as noted on here a million times already, was excellent. It was so cool to hear the whole crowd singing along, especially in providing vocals for "Where Have You Been."
Colly Strings needs to be back on the setlist.
Agreed. Is there a reason they don't seem to play it anymore?
I need Colly Strings and I Can Feel A Hot One tomorrow night. If Andy can't remember how to play Hot One, I'll teach him.

-everything to nothing
-some jokes told, they messed aroudn with playing 'closing time' for a few seconds
-where have you been (with some kdev lyrics splashed in at the end)
-me and julio (andy solo)
few notes. andy has packed ona few pounds and his beard is out of control. the second band was reallllllly good. fun..well. they suck as far as im concerned. it was manchester's other guitarist (name escapes me)'s birthday, so all of fun bumrushed him in skimpy underwear during where have you been. the band killed it, the crowd was one of the best ive ever been a part of except the girls giving me dirty looks while singing along to 1945 (apparnetly they didnt know the song?). i wonder if the bass player is into it though, he just kinda chills while the rest of the band rocks out

Exactly. Nothing is worse than the people in the front door complaining about all the people getting all up in their bidness. If you didn't figure that a band that plays edgy rock music's fans weren't going to mosh and act unruly, you shouldn't be standing at the front of thousands of them.

Absolutely. I'm not for people acting like assholes at a show, but you have to understand, if you're going to stand in the front, you're probably going to wind up getting hit by SOMEONE. Really, it's just common sense.

no Where Have You Been at Chicago, even though the crowd was pretty into them. no moshing or shoving or any incidents to report. either way, good show. Andy looked to be having a good time.
Apparently it was too hot, otherwise they would've came out and played it :/. Was a nice show, crowd was great. The last song of Audrey Sessions was unbelievable.
did they do the crazy 10+ minute WHYB? as well?

is it just me or does john not seem to enjoy himself on stage (bass player) at all? at my show he basically just stood there the whole show
I was completely amazed with Audrye Sessions when they played in Pontiac. Easily one of the best opening bands I've seen. Also, what was the name of the last song they performed?

They close with "Nothing Pure Can Stay" which absolutely brings down the house. In SF they play it with even more instruments (trombone, cello, some others) and it's crazy.
So Manchester was supposed to play until 11:30 tonight and they stopped at 11 and didn't even do an encore song... I was extremely let down *sigh*. I was also really hoping they would cover Hollad 1945 too :(. Audrye Sessions did blow me away though and um Fun... seriously? They seem like some musical band that could write musicals for veggie tales... I felt like I was at church camp or something. Probably one of the worst bands I've ever had to suffer standing through.

i think that's how he is off stage too. out of all in Manchester Orchestra, he was the only one who wasn't responsive to people talking to him when he was walking around.

Yeah, I was disappointed, too. All of a sudden he closed with "The Only One" (solo), said thanks and left. Very abrupt ending. Whatever, it was still fucking awesome. They straight up tore through the setlist and rocked faces off. Good stuff. Also, I love fun. Nate owns the place when he's on stage. Their songs are pop-sugar-goodness and catchy as fuck. They do sound like a band writing songs for musicals at times (last night he was talking about Bob Fosse, a Broadway choreographer, so I'm sure there' some influence from musicals.) With that being said, I can see how some people would hate fun. Overall, great show, great tour.
Winston Audio- Played a solid set, the crowd wasn't really moving any, but was still attentive. I enjoyed them quite a bit.
Songs played (Not in order):
- Smoke Signal
- Devil's Bed
- Hey Ann
- On My Trail
- Action/reaction
There was 1 or two more that I can't remember, I really enjoyed them though.
Audrye Sessions- I haven't really enjoyed their record so far, but their live performance was great. Anyone going to this tour HAS to be there for their closing song. SUCH an amazing closer.
I don't really remember many of the songs they played, but they opened with Turn Me Off and closed with Nothing Pure Can Stay.
fun.- Solid set, Nate made it a really fun time. Not my genre of music really, but they still put on a great show and it seemed like the crowd loved it.
Manchester- Really rocked the set that they played. Good mix of old and new songs, and the crowd was really into it. No covers or anything, and I was really disappointed that they ended it so suddenly. No encore or anything.
Setlist (Not all in order)
- Pride
- Shake It Out
- I've Got Friends
- Golden Ticket
- My Friend Marcus
- Wolves At Night
- Now That You're Home
- Sleeper 1972
- In My Teeth
- Everything To Nothing
- The River
- I Can Barely Breathe
- The Only One (Hull Solo)
A pretty solid set of only Manchester songs, really disappointed we didn't get Holland 1945 or a Cotton Crush cover now after reading the other sets. Still a good time regardless. Great tour.
Can't wait for the early June show in Orlando.

I bought their CD after the show, but I wasn't sure if the song was on it since all the additional instruments made is sound a bit different live. Chris from MO did some vocals during their set and it was spectacular.

they played last night in st. paul. they sounded great, but IMO, the new songs do not sounds as good live. they didnt say a single word to the crowd nor did they play an encore. getting really annoyed of andy and his ego.

Got back early from the SF show tonight. Audrye Sessions were impressive. Fun was. . .well, they had a good name, music was much more engergetic and happy than The Format. Manchester. . . disappointing. I left after Shake It Out, their second song. Seems like they just wanted to play loud. It didn't help that the guy behind me's hair kept whipping me, that was annoying as shit. Their music was just too godamm loud, and I can handle some stuff, but it was just like they were playing fast and loud and screaming lyrics, maybe they were all just drunk or something. Not what I was expecting at all. I was very impressed with their performances on Letterman, and that was YouTube quality. Kinda weird when a band sounds better on YouTube than they do live in person.

I saw the set list that they had on stage, cause they gave it to the girl next to me after the show, and it had Pride at the top. That's definitely the closest I've ever been to a band. I thought about it after the show, and could have easily sabotaged that show by knocking over the keyboard, playing Andy's guitar, and singing into the mic. All were close enough.
So pissed they skipped Pride, though. Would have destroyed my mind.

I was under the impression that they were, for lack of a better term, more technically savvy. I don't know much about them, but from the way people talk about them, I just assumed they put on a very tight live act. What I saw was very sloppy and loud. It seemed like each band member was in their own zone playing their own instrument, not really performing as a band. Usually bands don't get better the further they get into their set, at least not that I've ever seen.
And granted, the dude that was behind me was pissing me off, so I was pretty annoyed to start off with.

I went to the Houston date on the 28th of May and almost passed out during "Where Have You Been?" because of dehydration, after the show was over and I went outside it felt like winter for a few minutes. All the bands killed it live, I wasnt bored for a second at the show. Probably one of my favorite shows ever. Well the last few MO songs I wasnt really into it because I was recovering from dehydration, thank god my brother bought me so water or else I would of collapse, but other than that it was amazement.

I went to the show in Oxford Mississippi last saturday and I was highly disappointed. I have seen them a good dozen times, and this defiantly marked their worst performance. Additionally, the set list was also disappointing... they didn't play very long, only one song was played off of anything other than the new album (which I was glad to see was well received), and not even an encore. It was quite a disappointment.

yep, that's her video of it. i was standing next to her during this.
I hung out with all five guys from Manchester after their show in Pittsburgh at the beginning of May and they are some of the nicest, most genuine dudes around. Andy was a bit drunk, but he was still really cool with everybody. Just leaning against a wall with my buddy smoking a cigarette talking about cops. Me Chris and Jay talked about touring, movies, different venues and the likes of. They're all really sweet guys. Robert was running around with a fake moustache taped to his face. I'm pretty sure Jeremiah passed out in the van, but I helped him tear down and he was really cool, but really overwhelmed by people. I think they're just the opposite of what everyone seems to be saying. One kid goes (to Jer) "You're the reason I bought a drumkit" and Jer goes "Oh man, I'm really sorry about that" haha. They've been touring non-stop since last year. Just keep that in mind. If you just talk to them, they're really great guys.

A new (?) song that had lyrics that went something like "I want to sing like the girl from No Doubt" (the irony behind this being that No Doubt was playing with Paramore across town in Tampa that same night. A part of me really wanted to go to that, but tickets were too expensive)
I Can Barely Breathe ("End of the World" on the set list)
Where Have You Been? (extended, with Andy playing drums at the end.. very cool)
Badges and Badges (Andy introduced it as "Badges? We Don't Need No Stinking Badges")
My Friend Marcus
Mean Everything to Nothing
The River
The Only One (Andy Solo, he asked the lights to be completely off, it was kinda cool)
It may be out of order a little, I don't remember where they played 100 Dollars/Badges/the song about No Doubt.
