House of Blues AC is fucking huge.. but there is a small "pit area" that's really pretty small. If you get there early, you'll get really fucking close, that is, if you can take the heat Converge is undoubtedly going to bring.
Thursday always brings hardcore bands. Turmoil, DEP, Glassjaw, Converge, Blackout Pact, Circle Takes The Square....
I have tickets for the first announced show (12/27), but I'd like to see them at HOB, and I'd also like to see them 12/28 since it'd be their last show of 2005.
This is it, folks. Your final chance to hear A LOT of Thursday's best songs before they're retired.. by the time the new 2006 cd comes out, you'll be left with
Understanding In A Car Crash
Autobiography Of A Nation
Cross Out The Eyes
Paris In Flames
How Long Is The Night?
For The Workforce, Drowning
Signals Over The Air
Division St.
War All The Time
Jet Black New Year

HOB:AC is larger than any other venue in the South Jersey/Philly area, other than arenas and such. It's pretty big, I'm sure you've been there--check there's like 3-4+ bars, it goes wayyy back. Plus there is an upstairs.
I saw Dropkick Murphys there quite recently... I'm surprised HOB let everyone jump the stage like they did during The Spicy McHagis Jig; I didn't think I'd dig the HOB, but it was great. Very few meathead security guards, especially for a band like Righteous Jams--if it was the EF, I'd guarantee like 5+ bouncers in the pit for RJ.

On that note, Righteous Jams killed it that night. And Far From Finished freaked me out.

the only show i went to at HOB was saves the day. it's a really nice place, but big in comparison to what i am used to, i suppose. i'm just short, so everything seems far away when tons of taller people are surrounding me. hopefully, the kids at this show won't be as dumb as senses fail kids. i hope i can get to it and maybe score a hotel nearby.

so just wondering, how nice is the atlantic city HOB? i've never been inside, just around the area and I'm curious. i'm about 90 minutes away from A.C.

it only opened a few months ago, so it's a very nice and modern venue, an essentially brand new addition to the showboat hotel. it has about four bars, it's very roomy (even at a sold out show), there's re-entry for 18+, at least for the show i was at.

Oh yeah, totally. I usually hit up shows at the Unitarian Church more than anywhere else. Pontiac Grille and TLA close behind. Fuck the Trocadero and EF, haha.
All in all though, the HOB is really nice for a relaxing show. Iron & Wine is gonna be great there. Got some balcony tickets :)

it would be by far worth your drive- even if your shoved all the way in the back you have a really good view... nice facilities, not too crowded, and every single one of the staff members is awesome, only worried about saftey and having fun-- my band played there last week and everyone was great
saves the day sold out, but ten is from hammonton so thats basically the closest venue to thier hometown--i dont think thursday and converge will be sold out...there isnt a huge ac scene considering its pretty much 99% old people loosing money, but sometimes im suprised

Please, read. I said these are the songs that will REMAIN. I've seen them many times in the last few months alone.. I'm aware of what they'll play :D
I'm basically suggesting we should all say goodbye to:
Waiting in full (already gone, though)
Concealer (gone since WATT)
A Hole In The World
I Am The Killer
Standing On The Edge of Summer (gone since WATT)
Wind-Up (was this ever part of their live show?)
Between Rupture and Rapture (a very old song, never really made it onto the WATT tours)
Marches and Maneuvers (never really made it onto the WATT tours, either)
Asleep In The Chapel (never really made it onto the WATT tours, either)
This Song Brought To You (probably to be replaced by another soft song)
Steps Ascending (never really made it onto the WATT tours, either)
M Shepard (never really made it onto the WATT tours, either)
Tomorrow I'll Be Your (never really made it onto the WATT tours, either)
Aside from the rare performances (I've seen Porcelain and This Side of Brightness recently, but it was a rare thing), those songs are probably going to be out.. of course, it's speculation, but I'd bet I'm very, very accurate here.
