"The World" (Tim O'Heir version) is the unreleased Starting Line (www.startinglinerock.com) song of the week on their pureVOLUME.com (http://www.purevolume.com/thestartingline) page. The song will be up for just one week when it is replaced with the next winner. This is the original album version before Geffen asked the band to go back in the studio and redo it with Howard Benson. A lot of the band members like this version better than the version on the record, let them know what you think.

Some parts on this song I like better and some on the cd version I like better. It's a tie haha
There both fucking amazing!
add the gang vocals to this version, and i think it'd be perfect.
otherwise, they're both good, but the album version is my preference due to the gang vocals.

Right from the start you can tell this is better.
This should have been on the album.

I haven't spent much time with this record, but what's better about the Tim O' Heir version?

I like this version much more.
i like most of this version better, except the "work work" gang vocals sound awesome on the other version. good stuff
I tend to disagree. I think the gang vocal part in Benson's version sounds like an Andrew W.K ripoff... gross. This version totally kicks the crap out of the Benson one. Hands down.
howard bensons version is way better
If you're into vocals that sound like a wave of reverb, then sure. Benson overproduces the fuck out of everything and doesn't give the instruments natural breathing room. Its sickening.

Benson's, there is more emotion in all the choruses, the tempo is a bit faster (makes the song more convincing), the bridge has more to offer with the gang vocals, the ending crescendo is pretty powerful compared to o' heir's, those are my reasons why i like bensons better. I like both version though because i like the song anyway despite who produced it.

i like the album version better...mainly for the gang vocals, the hand claps, the acoustic guitar, more emotion in the chorus vocals and the lack of the window sill line. maybe it's just cuz i heard that one first and my brain is expecting those parts to come.
this version isn't bad at all though
