It kind of looks like she's got a lazy eye going on in that picture.

I'd give your list a 6/10, just in regards to how many of these peoples that I may or may not put in a similar list.

3. zao - metal - best metal band i've ever heard
4. grandaddy - lo-fi/alt - super chill awesome music
5. m83 - electronic/shoegaze - best band in their genre

ive heard of some of those bands. I have a few M83's cd's. I wouldnt really consider them shoegaze though. A little i guess. But if im gonna listen to some shoegaze id rather listen to Amusement Parks On Fire, Stella Luna, Autolox(more rock oriented), Film School. And then theres the stoner rock/shogaze stuff like Dead Meadows, Warlocks, Darker My Love. But none of that has the electronics like M83 has. If you like electronic shoegaze, you should check out The Depreciation Guild, you can dl their cd for free on their site www.inhergentlejaws.com (http://www.inhergentlejaws.com) one of the best shoegaze/electronic music ive heard. not sure how you would trust my opinion though, but defintaly give it a listen.

I wish i liked that cd. I really tried. It was just too...loud, and all over the place. I wish TMV would go back to just guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and a singer. Instead of saxophones, and 11 ppl onstage. Hopefully I will like there next one, its suppose to be accoustic. Whatever Omar considers accoustic is probably going to be insane, in a good way im hoping.

The whole story surrounding that albums crazy. I was fascinated reading all the articles that were coming out even before I heard a single note. I must have listened to it for a solid week. It just grew on me, I think the crazyness/loudness was needed though. The past few records lacked some of that agressiveness I guess? Wax and Metatron are just ridiculously good songs.
I love what they make with just guitars and drums, but I love the other instruments just the same. I'd hate to see them go back to what they had with the old band. Don't get me wrong, I loved what they did in that band, but It's always refreshing to see how they're continually progressing and not getting pigeonholed. They sit outside every style of music and I love that. I guess that's the main thing I love about them.. just how they incorporate so many types of music and makes you want to check out these styles. Basically.
p.s. Very much agreed on Omars consideration of acoustically driven music ha. I'm excited for it.
the bedlam in goliath sucked hard. the style they chose for that album seemed like they were trying too hard to be really heavy or whatever.

indeed, too chaotic. I enjoy the slower, atmospheric sounding Volta. And on their older stuff, when it was loud and crazy, it was much more organized. Too much stuff going on on that cd.

Brand New Brand Schmew. We'll probably never hear the end of them. Two solid albums, nothing more. Muse's best was Absolution. The Mars Volta isn't a bad pick, but most people who list them just put them on their since they're that one rock band that gives you indie cred. Built to Spill; see blub on The Mars volta. Prince? super not that good. Sonic Youth comes in second, only to Radiohead. Who doesn't like some Jenny Lewis in their day? Should be on more lists. And last, but not least, the one band that no one on hear has heard of in attempt to get some MAJOR INDIE CRED. Guess what. We don't care you found some obscure band who i'm sure is only mediocre at best. Are they your hometown heros? The little unknown band with the DIY ethic who deserves to be signed but is too good and against the man and so down-to-earth that they won't get signed. blah blah blah blah the man corporation. i'm sure that's all Amusement Parks On Fire is. Good list overall. 7.2/10.0.

Amusement parks on fire is a band from Liverpol or somewhere in england. They are signed too, they are kinda like, shoegazy rock. Ppl have compared them to swervdiver(sp), they have 2 LP's and tons of EP's that are kinda hard to find. They are working on two LP's right now, they should be great. look them up sometime, they are gettin more popular, they arent THAT unknown. Ive even made some threads about them before and got a couple responses.

Even their new stuff has some originality. Sonic Youth changed music and he calls them generic. I can't find the right words to display how incredibly wrong that is.
Picking Brand New and Radiohead? What a trendsetter.
Agreed. You should only listen to music that makes you a trendsetter.

ive heard of some of those bands.
What a stellar band (TDG). Good stuff. Film School's great as well. Great suggestions.

If I was to pick my least favourite bands - these would show up.
How are Sonic Youth generic?
I said the same thing. Dude's favorite band is mwY who is essentially just a Sonic Youth/Pavement ripoff (I still like mwY, just making my point) and then he calls Sonic Youth generic. An outrage. He has obviously never listened to them, he was just using them as the butt of an insult in order to gain himself attention as somebody who is knowledgable enough about music to know who is generic and who is original. People like him are the ruining of this forum, and forums all across the internet.

Fucking Togepi.
1) pretty sure thats old irrelevant news, we're cordial to each other now
2) pretty sure you were entirely irrelevant to that argument that happened in the fucking jurassic era
3) pretty sure he wouldnt get pissed off when someone was honest to admit they didnt know what they were talking about as opposed to acting like they have credibility anyway, which is what he DOES hate.
so, in conclusion
4) pretty sure you should shut the fuck up. dont try to call people out for things you dont have a clue about.
