Below is a mesage from Vinnie of I Am the Avalanche (http://www.iamtheavalanche.com):
hello everyone. this be vinnie from i am the avalanche. just wanted to let
you know some stuff about this halifax tour. ********we are NOT playing nyc, philly, or connecticut on this tour.************** theres been so much confusion about all this stuff lemme tell you how it is. when you are confirmed on a tour, the people involved in the process of putting on the show dont want you to play the same city too close together because it effects your draw on the show. . which makes sense. we played with piebald a few days ago in these markets so we aint allowed to do it. the confusion stems from the last-minute-ness(new word) of it all.it was all completely out of our control. we wanna play. we love you. happy holidays. god bless beatz. vinnie-i am the avalanche
p.s. we tour . thats all we do. we will be back soon .to all my nyc,
philly, and conn. peeps. we love you.

My friend just did an interview with Vinnie on his radio show, he seemed like a real cool guy. But on a slightly more related note I need to see this band live.
i am the huge fan of this band

i guess it makes sense, but it sounds like such a lame policy. hardcore fans will come to every show when it's possible, but concerts try to lure hardcore fans, iffy fans, and potential fans. a show that tours in the same area frequently isn't going to consistently yield a strong turnout.

You need to stop asking stupid ass questions like this and go buy it. I've seen this band 4 times now and seriously, this band is 100% no-bull, all about the music and I love them for that alone; the killer music is just a bonus. Check 'em out when they come around cause he's not joking when he says all they do is tour!

I honestly didn't really hear much about this band pre- the honorary tour... but after seeing them I am now a huge fan. They put on one hell of a show and are really awesome guys.

and what about the hardcore fans that are on a budget? I mean I see where you are coming from and all but even if my favorite band were playing three shows side by side in three places close to me I wouldnt go see them three nights in a row because I've got shit to pay like bills. And especially now, living in New Orleans the only shows that play close are in Baton Rouge // Lafayette and those are one-four hours away, hello gas money.
I heard a rumour they're supporting The Starting Line and MXPX in the UK this January. Anyone know if that is true or just horrible horrible lies designed to raise my hopes and then crush them into dust like so many of my broken dreams have been before? EMO!

Stuff always happens like this.the bigger venues dont want the bands playing others shows around the date of there show.It happens like this especially with big fests that the bands arent allowed to play shows before it because of the draw of the show. Its just how its done and you cant help that. Also to the person asking for the i am the avalanche cd...go and buy it.If theres one band right now in music that deserves it it is i am the avalanche.Vinnie has been making music for years and he deserves all he can get.Trust me youll love the cd...its deffinately my favorite cd released since the movielife released a cd.
