there is a joey harrington topic about 10 threads down but this is what i said
Harrington on Thursday didn't look terrible I thought. The recievers were dropping passes all over, and he was getting pressured from all sides.
Since being drafted they have picked up 3 WR's who have been hurt or never made much of an impact. Kevin Jones has had a terrible sophmore season. Outside of the D-Line their defense is suspect and leaves the Offense on the field too much.
I just think Joey has gotten a bad wrap when the bottom line is he hasn't been surronded by a great supporting cast to really improve at all. Very similar to David Car.
Or maybe like Bill Simmons said maybe its just that his name is Joey maybe he should shorten it to Joe. I mean imagine Joey Montana?

good points. he looked so good with oregon, it's hard to believe he's not having success in the nfl. maybe it'll just take him some time.

yeah, he seemed like the guy to have success in the NFL. I can't believe the Lions aren't known or at least talked of as the best recieving corps, they had some seemingly great draft picks with both Williams and Rogers there.
They built that team offensively around Harrington and the WR's on offense, and now that it's failed, well, I'm glad I'm not a Detroit fan. Buest guess, hope the Pistons do well in the NBA, because the Lions will find a standstill for a long time.
he has had a lot of time
yeah, but he had the potential to be good, he just failed in the end.
Also, why on 4th and 4 would the Steelers call a QB run for a guy coming off a knee injury, its only a suprise if he could make it to the FD line in under a minute

Exactly. Not to mention with 3 WR's who have yet to really produce and who have been plauged by injuries, and no real RB besides some select games last year by Kevin Jones I don't see how you can solely blame Joey Harrington.

you cannot do much on offense with a poor O-Line and an injured pro-bowl fullback.

joey harrington isnt a good QB, but I think Mariucci deserves a lot of blame for the way the offense is run. Kevin Jones gets 15 touches a game if hes lucky ..he can be an elite RB but Mooch wouldnt give him the opportunities to be one. Fire Millen next and start over - thats all the Lions can do.

Actually Jeff Garcia got him fired. When Mooch put in his boyfriend against Atlanta, that was the last straw. Millen's a Joey guy, Mooch is a Garcia guy.
