I just added a new review (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=2122712) for Stretch Arm Strong (www.stretcharmstrong.net) - Free at Last, in stores now. This stellar release really suprised me, in a good way. Check it out.

I'm half/half on this album. Surprising, yes, but I just can't get into their sappy lyrics...vocals throw me off too.

Good review. Stretch is a band that always had those pop sensabilities to me (whether it be the sing along parts in "For the Record" or "For Now" or the hooky chorus on "Miles Apart") but this album puts them in the front which is something they haven't done. Great band, great album...I hope they gain some success from this release.

Sound of Names Dropping is a killer song though. Best choice for their first single.

Definitely. That or "Hearts on Fire" would make great singles, though I feel Sound of Names Dropping reflects their sound on this record better.

I was watching that game and the expression on Shockey's face is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I laughed for about an hour after that.

I was lucky enough to see SAS for the first time on Monday. They were seriously one of the best/most fun bands that I have ever seen live. It was just an all around fun show. And there is something so amazing about seeing a band that has been around for as long as Stretch has. They deserve a lot of respect.

Great album, it makes up for their last album. BTW: there is a space between Arm & Strong ie: Stretch Arm Strong.

I got to be at the show where they shot the video for The Sound of Names Dropping. It worked out great. I was moving my sister down to Atlanta that week and they just happend to be playing there with my friends in Still Remains and shooting the video too.
