wow crawford sucks my left nut. what a horrible player. he's good for scoring and he's not even a good shooter! nate rob deserves the start. trade crawford.

nate rob came out firing tonight. I love the idea of Stephon and Nate running the 1/2 together...instead of a true point, you have 2 shoot first PGs out there. Nate actually played the 2 at Washington, it's where he really thrived. Crawford is just out of the loop on this team...it's clear that Nate Rob is the future, and this will be a rebuilding year of sorts for the Knicks as they get their roster all figured out and the players adjust to Brown. I'm excited for him though, I didn't get to see the game but from the stats it looked like he was pretty active out there. Did anybody see the game?

ok? ive thought from day one the hawks were stupid for picking williams, they shouldve picked chris paul. so if you were trying to take a shot at me by saying that about marvin, then keep it up. i am however impressed by the play of salim stoudamire off the bench. hes played really well so far this year. next.

marv will be good in time...and the hawks are building, so they have that time.

He played well, but not great. Most I've seen him on the court this year. Poor shooting night, and still a little suspect on defense, though. This was the best I've seen the Knicks play this year, mainly due to the fact that Marbury played a team game instead of trying to take over. I'd still like to get him out of NY, but with that contract I doubt that's happening anytime soon. A starting five of Robinson, Crawford, Q, Curry and Frye would be nice to see, if they could all stay healthy. I don't think I can ever recall seeing a good, young starting line-up on this team, and I'd like to for once.

yep sure was. there's always going to be your sneaky second rounders in drafts. there's usually one every year. recent ones are duhon, pachulia, korver, boozer, arenas, okur, redd, jaric. some of those players are stars in the leauge now and others are great role players all taken in the second round of the draft. i think lawrence roberts in memphis has some breakout potential if one of their big men goes down. i could definately see him putting up boozer rookie year type numbers.

in order for the knicks to have a good starting line up, crawford and marbury gotta go. crawford rarely has a good shooting night, he's off way more than he is on. marbury's just a cancer. q is just proving that he's really not that good, he just was surrounded by great passing in phoenix and had quite a few opps to take shots. trading for q rich was stupid. the main thing that needs to go in new york is that fucking idiot isiah thomas. what a horrible GM.

They really should have brought in an Eric Snow/Chauncey Billups type player, or at least mold someone into the true 1 guard that Larry Brown loves. Curry and Frye are a pretty solid duo, with Antonio Davis coming off the bench. The young talent is there with Nate and Ariza. The team is borderline playoff caliber right now.

my starting 5 would be

Frye
Curry
Ariza (only decent slasher they have)
Crawford
Marbury

i've said it a million times Robinson is not ready to be a full time starter. That is a couple of years away. Q Rich is not nearly as good as some believe. He really isn't a great shooter, he just shoots a lot.

We're now three full weeks into the 2005-06 season, a long enough time to get a gauge on which NBA rookies are having an early impact.
A look at 10 first-year players who are producing the most results, as well as the rookies off to slow starts:
1. Chris Paul (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3930), New Orleans Hornets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=nor): The runaway leader among rookies in points per game (16.6), steals (2.2) and minutes played (36.4), the diminutive point guard from Wake Forest who supplanted Speedy Claxton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3419) as the Hornets' primary playmaker is also tied for the league lead in assists per game (6.3) among rookies. He had a strong run of games for the surprising 4-6 Hornets before looking lost against Philadelphia's Allen Iverson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3094) on Monday.

2. Deron Williams (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3929), Utah Jazz (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=uth): Williams became Utah's starter a week ago after Keith McLeod (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3810) was sidelined with a back injury, and now looks poised to keep the job long-term. Has reached double figures in points in seven straight games, and had double-figure assists in the last two against Memphis and Milwaukee. Looks like that week he spent in Spokane, Wash., with John Stockton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=326) prior to training camp is paying off.
3. Charlie Villanueva (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3933), Toronto Raptors (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=tor): Playing 28.5 minutes off the bench for the woeful Raptors, Villanueva has shown a steady inside-outside game that has hushed the critics who wondered why Toronto selected him at No. 7 after a so-so collegiate career at UConn. Tied for third in scoring (13.2), second in rebounding (6.5) and first in blocks (0.90) among rookies, Villanueva also has knocked down 11 3-pointers.
4. Channing Frye (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3934), New York Knicks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=nyk): Who says Larry Brown doesn't like rookies? He's positively enamored of the young forward-center from Arizona who has shown the best shooting touch by a Knicks big man since Patrick Ewing (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=106) prowled the paint. Frye leads all rookies in field goal percentage (.510). New York has often played its best ball when he has been on the court in Brown's ever-changing rotations.
5. Andrew Bogut (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3927), Milwaukee Bucks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=mil): The No. 1 pick in the draft is logging only 26.0 minutes per game but is averaging 8.1 rebounds. He made a foul-plagued return to the state where he played in college and had a mediocre outing against the Jazz Monday night, his third straight pedestrian effort after losing his starting job to Joe Smith (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3003). Ranks 10th in the NBA among all players, veterans and rookies, in offensive rebounds per 48 minutes.
6. Sarunas Jasikevicius (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3996), Indiana Pacers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=ind): The 29-year-old Lithuanian from Maccabi Tel Aviv has shot a disappointing 33 percent from 3-point range thus far while struggling to look comfortable in an offense where he's often switched between point guard and shooting guard. Went 10-for-10 from the line against the Bobcats last weekend, moving him among the top 10 leaguewide in free-throw percentage (.923).
7. Jose Calderon (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3989), Toronto Raptors (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=atl): The young point guard from Spain has been quietly racking up assists in bunches. Of the top 40 league leaders in assists, only Calderon (26.0 minutes) and Jamaal Tinsley (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3528) (26.4) are averaging less than 27 minutes. Coach Sam Mitchell (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=233) has at times played Calderon alongside Mike James (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3577) in the backcourt, allowing James to concentrate on scoring and Calderon on getting him the ball.
8. Salim Stoudamire (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3957), Atlanta Hawks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=atl): People were raving about his shooting stroke when the Hawks picked him 31st in the draft, and Damon's cousin has not disappointed. His 14 3-pointers are second-most among rookies behind Deron Williams, and his 24-point fourth-quarter outburst against New Orleans last Friday very nearly gave the Hawks their first win.
9. Luther Head (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3950), Houston Rockets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=hou): In an effort to add some quickness to a team with the worst record in the Western Conference, coach Jeff Van Gundy gave Head the start Sunday against Indiana. He's shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.
10. Sean May (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3939), Charlotte Bobcats (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=cha): Of Charlotte's two rookies from North Carolina, May has made a bit more of a difference than Raymond Felton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3931). He is the team's fourth-leading scorer (10.4 ppg) despite playing just 19.4 minutes per game.
SLOW STARTS
So far, these lottery picks haven't fulfilled the potential that made them high draft picks:
Marvin Williams (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3928), Hawks (No. 2 overall): Producing only 6.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in almost 25 minutes per night for winless Atlanta.
Raymond Felton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3931), Bobcats (No. 5): Lost out to Sean May (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3939) in a close race for No. 10. Was great in blowout win vs. Pacers, so-so next two nights.
Martell Webster (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3932), Trail Blazers, (No. 6): Has received a mere 22 minutes of playing time in five games, shooting 1-for-5. The make was a 3 against the Knicks.
Ike Diogu (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3935), Warriors, (No. 9): A fractured left hand has kept him out of action. He could begin practicing soon.
Andrew Bynum (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3936), Lakers (No. 10): Logged some fourth-quarter minutes during the meltdown against the Bulls the other night, but hurt the Lakers more than he helped.
Fran Vazquez, Magic (No. 11): Averaging 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds for Girosa, which is 7-1 and tied for first place in the Spanish League.
Yaroslav Korolev (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3938), Clippers (No. 12): Yet to record a single statistic in six minutes of playing time over two games.
Rashad McCants (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3940), Timberwolves (No. 14): Being brought along slowly, but logged 25 minutes vs. Bobcats last Saturday.

haha i love how you keep taking these shots at the hawks like i care. yeah im a fan, but i KNOW they suck. i know they're going to be lucky to win 15 games this year, these are all things i KNOW.

as for nazr being better offensively...not quite. did you see the numbers he put up last year in new york before thomas got dumb? there was a streak of 6 games with at least 10 and 10. one game he had 24 and 14 and another 21 and 18. eddy curry has 26 double digit rebounding games...for his CAREER...nazr had 24 alone last year. curry is not more talented than mohammed by any means. curry's nearly 7 foot tall and around 300 pounds, he should be owning the paint, but he's too much of a pussy.

Curry has way more raw talent than Mohammed (and most others for that matter) but he's an uncoachable ass munch who does just enough to get by in a contract year. He signed his big deal and you will see him play stellar in his next contract year. Until then, be ready for down syndrome looking Curry to shuffle his feet just enough not to get traded. He has absolutely no work ethic, and he is so talented that coaches refuse to sit his ass until he reaches his potential. The problem is Curry is apathetic to the situation either way.. He knows he is going to get his 30 mil whether he rides the pine or plays the game. His (and so many others) lack of passion for the game makes it hard to stomach for me sometimes.

I'm sure Isiah will draft Reddick. A one dimensional player who I would absolutely hate to have on my team? It's definitely happening. Plus, I'm relatively certain he's building a team that consists of 12 shoot first, think second guards.

Shenanigans, I watched it on Buy and Sell on whether he'd be an impact player, every guy on it said buy and that he would make an impact on the league.

On that note, every year teams take a chance on a senior like Redick, in the lottery. This year will be no exception, he'll get drafted in the lottery but ultimately the team that does it will regret it. On that note, Shelden Williams should be a good pick from Duke. He's a monster and I think his game will translate very well to the pros.

Also, I was looking at that NBA Draft site, I don't believe that Tiago Splitter will really ever come to the NBA. I think he's an urban legend amongst scouts. The last two years he's been in the draft until about two minutes before, and then he pulls out. I'll believe it when I see it.

thanks man, me too. i think he made a mistake of coming out right after juco. he had signed with louisville originally, pitino was at our school alot(nice guy btw)talking to donta. and had encouraged him to come to louisville for at least one year. he and sebastian telfair had both signed letters of intent but opted for the nba instead. its working out ok for telfair but donta's not getting the PT he deserves. so hopefully this ime in arkansas will let him showcase his abilities...man if only donta and sabastian had went to louisville for one season, and running the floor with fransico garcia...coulda been an elite 8 team.
