this is taken from the new espn nba insider. nothing too great in it. but this caught my eye.
Bad Knees May Force Bender To Retire
"Indiana Pacers forward Jonathan Bender is awaiting word on MRI results that could determine whether he'll be able to continue his NBA career. Bender, the fifth pick in the 1999 draft, has a loss of cartilage in both knees and has missed a significant number of games in each season since 2001-02. Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh said Tuesday that the results of Bender's latest MRIs have been sent to his agent in Los Angeles, and that a meeting with Bender and doctors is scheduled for next week." -- Indianapolis Star
sucks i guess. great example of why some kids should just go to college. he MIGHT have been a good player had he went to college...but he opted not to and was a bust. he was picked before so many players that are actually doing something in the leauge. i was never a huge bender fan, as you can see, he never really accomplished anything.
although he did hustle the nba for alot of money. which is fine by me, wish i could do that.
