50 years ago today Rosa Parks changed the world. I just wanted everyone to stop for a moment and think about what you can do to make a difference.

i've turned over a new leaf.
i will no longer make hawthorne heights sit at the back of the bus. instead, i'll encourage them to sit wherever they'd like...
...as long as i don't have to hear them.

Hanes Mall by chance?
What can I do to change the world?
I can try to convince someone, one person at a time, that Hawthorne Heights is NOT good music.
I'll start now.
Please stop listening to Hawthorne Heights! Pick up something from Glassjaw or At The Drive-In or Thrice or Thursday or Every Time I Die and see the difference! Do it for ROSA!

oh, i thought you dropped it and got into 1001 this semester.
well, span 1002 kicked my ass. right now i have 149 out of 600 points... and only 200 points left to possibly get. so even if i get a 100 on the final exam and 100 on the project i just turned in, i'll only be able to get a 65.6 in the class.
and the spanish dept's grading scale is different so, 64 and lower is failing. so... looks like i'll be using my first grade replacement. mom's going to be proud.

actually guys...i know I am going to get REAMED for this but give their new cd a chance...I like it a lot...its much more pop punk.....I realize their lyrics can be very lame and the guys voice sounds too soft for their music..but the new album is very catchy...I may even give it a "good" rating.....I only liked one song off of their whole first album and that was the transition....I don't skip any songs while listening to their new album
Let the bashing begin I'm sure

She was certaintly a great woman and helped changed our country, but the second part of this reminded me of a similiar question once asked by some uptight caller to the late Ol' Dirty Bastard on Mtv --
Q: What do you do to give back to the community?
ODB: NOTHIN'!

Whats funny is that she wasnt even the first person to get arrested for sitting in the front. She was like the 4th. Oh and she is usually portrayed as a woman that was just tired and wanted to sit in the front. Also, she was an acitivist for black rights and spoke out and protested about it. She also had an idea going in of what she was going to do on the bus. This is not to take anythning away from her. I am taking a class on black rights and this was brought up. I am just posting it because what happend was differnet from what everyone thinks.

if you are an american (u.s.) and you contract AIDS, it is your own fault. ignorance shows no boundaries. if you're not responsible enough to take the proper precautions with your sexual health, tough shit.

...sex isn't the only way to get AIDs. Your mom could have had AIDs, you could have used an infected needle, you could just be really fucking unlucky, etc.

thank you, i'm quite aware of the other ways. that's why i said "contracted." as far as using an infected needle, stop reusing needles? don't be a junkie? i know there are other countries with lower/little standards as far as medical cleanliness goes, but there's no excuse if you live in the states. if you're getting a tattoo, do your research first. don't go to an alley to get a flu shot, go to your local health clinic or hospital. i don't blame those born into it, but i do tell those who have the means to take some responsibility.

shit happens even when you take proper precautions. All I am saying that it is a big issue WORLD WIDE and that you shouldn't use it in such a light hearted tone.

I love how in practically every post, people turn it around to bash Hawethorne Heights in some way.
I don't mean to disrespect her, but Rosa Parks was only given credit and publicized because she was a non-threatening image to white americans. People would rather credit an old, frail lady than some other activists who im sure are far more intimidating.
I say give more credit where credits due, but it'd be like beating a dead horse so whatever.
