I've had a DW 5000 double pedal for almost 3 years and I love it.
it's honestly the only pedal I can play good, controlled, smooth double bass on.
I like that it's not crazy smooth like the 9000 or the Iron Cobra; it has more resistance it feels, which has definitely let me learn how to play a lot easier.

I don't play crazy fast double bass because that's just not my style. Playing super fast double bass DOES NOT mean you're a good drummer, which I think most kids nowadays think.

I use it more to add a bit of flavor...a lot of quick little things...and for breakdowns, of course. I mean...I'm using double bass in a post-rock band where all the songs are 5 minutes minimum and it makes the songs a lot more powerful, especially during the distorted parts.

anyways, I'd go for a DW pedal. I find them easier to use plus getting spare parts is much easier (I learned that from talking to Jeff Gretz who actually helped me out when getting a new pedal which was the 5000).

Just remember to practice, practice, practice with it. Get a metronome and play along to it. Too many people think you can just go on it and play these crazy things and there's a 0% chance that happening. I've been playing drums for 7 years and double bass for 5 and I'm still learning more about it and getting faster and better. Be patient!

I had some Iron Cobras that I love, if you got the money the DW 9000 are the way to go.

I absolutely can't stand any DW pedals. If it makes sense, they are almost "too perfect". I like to actually feel something underneath my feet.

Iron cobra is what I use (although i don't play double pedals)

I used to have the pearl powershifter eliminator. I really liked it because you can completely customize everything from footboard angle, cam, weight, etc.

Go to a local music store, try a slew of them out. Then spend a few hours adjusting the one you pick. Eventually you will grow into it anyway.
