I had the chance to check out a couple new Less Than Jake (http://www.lessthanjake.com) songs during a call from Vinnie earlier this week, and I was beyond impressed with what I heard. The tracks, entitled "Overrated" and "The Rest of My Life", and are both set to appear on the bands forthcoming record, In With The Out Crowd. You will not be dissapointed come release time!

You taunting bastard.

But kudos to you for hyping this one. Finally, some respectable bands get some play around here.

How does it sound? With Hello Rockview's producer on board, I'm hoping for a return to the days when the horns were just as important musically as the guitars and the vocals, but I'm not expecting it. Anthem was a good album, but the horns were reduced to nothing more than filler noise.

Forthcoming, not FOURTHcoming. Haha.

Forthcoming is another word for upcoming, as in a new record.

Well, here's what i've grasped about everything i've heard so far:

As you must know, Less Than Jake have never really put out entirely ska cd's. There's usually a handful of punk songs with horns, and a handful of ska songs. It looks like it's going to be exactly the same time around. As Vinnie said in my interview with him recently, the horns won't be everywhere (they never have been), but when they are it will be like a wall of horns. They're so far, much, MUCH louder on these new tracks, and the production is sounding great. Howard Benson is doing a fantastic job.

Was it like back in the days of elementry school where he just holds the phone to the speaker and you keep trying to tell them its ok, but the phones not even close to their ear. But way excited, driving to go see them at The Quest in MN in Feb

So i'm not usually one for making fun of people (yes I am), but that was hilarious!

Mad props + imaginary rudeboy points.
