This band needs a thread. Amazing music.

First two full-lengths are quality. Then I lose interest.

psychocandy is a classic and my personal favorite, but mostly because i'm a huge shoegaze fan, and religiously follow all the gazer bands who lifted their sound from psychocandy. i've listened to darklands, but admit that I haven't given it much of a chance (Down on Me has been a favorite of mine for many years though).

People hung up on the Psychocandy sound might want to look into the 1988 B-sides compilation Barbed Wire Kisses, which collects the odds n sods from that era. The Complete John Peel Sessions is another decent compilation, as is the BBC Live in Concert disc (which covers post-Psychocandy stuff and sounds great live, especially the rendition of sidewalking).

Honey's Dead is a very decent effort as well.

Love this band so much, Psychocandy deserves all the praise it gets.

Psychocandy is my favorite album. It has a very different sound but Stoned and Dethroned is pretty good as well.

Yeah I wasn't the biggest fan of Stoned and Dethroned when I first heard it, but I enjoy it a lot more now. I prefer their earlier work, but their later stuff is still worth listening to.

Yeah, I agree, I'm fan of all their albums, but none have the impact of Psychocandy. The song they released last year has me interested in a new album, but I think it could be awhile before that happens.

Listened to this for the first time in months yesterday. Was delightful as always.

I've only listened to Psychocandy and Darklands. I really like both but I'd have to say Darklands is better.

I had a brief love affair with Psychocandy and then I just stopped, uh, listening, and when I revisited it, I didn't really dig it. I don't know. As a result, I've never really pursued the rest of their stuff (I don't even know how many other albums they recorded).

Love the J&MC. Have many stories involving me wearing their shirt (which I do often). Many of them involving people thinking it has some sort of religious affiliation....But I've also met some pretty awesome people, like the cashier who's about 40 at the local pharmacy who's a pretty big fan. I never would've thought.

So torn on Psychocandy. Some songs I really like. Some the aesthetic entirely overwhelms the songs. Grumble.
