hm, in retrospect, i think resuscitation and the only survivor are more a kick in the balls than anything else.
oh, and by the way, before making the poll, i also considered famous last words, firebreather, and in keeping secrets of silent earth: 3.
i really hope people are voting for the most epic song, rather than their most favorite band or whatever.

Welcome Home is totally epic, but I feel like it only builds to a certain level of intensity for me.
Thrice just keeps on going.

The Only Survivor is so amazing, the drumming on it just fascinates me. "They just spin in perfect little cicrcles"

Knights of Cydonia is synonymous with epic.

i cant believe people are actually picking MCR over these other choices rofl

I don't like most of the options, so I picked "Welcome to the Black Parade," just because I could. "Epic" is such an overused word these days anyway.

hey, i think the song itself is epic in its own right.
but i still didn't expect people to vote for it, and i also find it kind of funny that they did.
Apocalypse Now is a more epic Muse song, in my opinion.

Knights of Cydonia is orgasmic

04/15/09, 08:42 PM
Every Coheed song is epic, so that's not fair. But for me, The Earth Will Shake, Knights Of Cydonia and the Welcome Home.
Does anyone else think that Take A Bow is far more epic than Knights though?

It was tough for me between Coheed and Thrice, but as far as "epic" I had to go with Coheed.

"Welcome Home" is probably one of the most epic songs I have ever heard.

Welcome Home is pretty epic, but I had to go with The Earth Will Shake. By the time the song gets to the end if you aren't screaming at the top of your lungs, then you have no soul.
Alternate picks for both Coheed and Thrice would've been Keeping Secrets and Silhouette. I think the last time I saw Thrice and they kicked into Silhouette, I murdered somebody.
they're all epic because they are all 5-6 minute songs?

Some super songs there, went for The Earth Will Shake because I love thrice so much, though I think a different Thrice song could have been more appropriate, TAAATD or Firebreather maybe? Anyways, don't particularly like the bands any more but Chasing Suns, Knights of Cydonia and WELCOME HOME are superb.

Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando, Martin Sheen, Dennis Hopper, etc. it's a Vietnam movie by Francis Ford Coppola.
i've never heard the song Apocalypse Now by Muse, though.

No, the Coheed song was on Guitar Hero, and everyone at my school knows it, and there's maybe 10 out of 2000 students at my school who know any music that isn't played on Top 40 radio stations.

say what you will, but none of them have cinematic quality of Knights of Cydonia,......and thats pretty much cause its supposed to sound like a Spaghetti Western soundtrack lol

other:
Modest Mouse - Stars are Projectors, Night On the Sun
Cursive - Staying Alive
Thursday - Running From the Rain
Underoath - Desolate Earth :: the End is Here
i agree with staying alive being epic, a diffrent kind of epic, but friggin epic nonetheless

The Earth Will Shake>Welcome Home>Chasing Suns
Personally, I would have put either Desolate Earth or Too Bright Too See for Underoath's song.

Yeah, well as a band, Coheed is more underground, but in terms of those two songs, Coheed is more well known.
the first time i heard welcome home all i could think about was its epic-ness
