As long as there's no debate about the championship game that's all that really matters to me. I'm sure there are schools that miss the big pay day but unless it's the national championship the bcs games don't mean much to me.

the BCS is so fucking stupid. The Pac-10 teams always get shafted....ALWAYS....I'm just glad USC is in the national championship. I hope they kick the shit out of Texas and make an example out of them. Yeah seriously, fuck FSU.

the ND game is going to be HUGE in terms of ratings, i think it could have more viewers than the rose bowl.

uh no. this natl championship game is gonna be fucking nuts.
fsu is in because of the fact that they won the acc title...you win the conference you are automatically in the bcs...ie: pitt last yr. pitt was terrible but made it from a weak division and was completely trounced. the bcs needs to be changed so teams like oregon get in and teams like fsu are not.
nd deserved it but to say that that game will garner more attention then the bcs title is stupid.

they need to get rid of conference championships. Make leagues like the Big 12 one big division instead of two sub-divisions, and then if theres a tie, have a tiebreaker.

i just dont get why the big east champion gets a BCS bid, i mean WVU is a good team, but there are many others that deserve it more

Sure this year the Big East sucks but when the BCS was created the Big East was a really good conference and they're not going to change the rule unless the Big East goes below the minimum number of teams recquired.
psu is gonna kill fsu
georgia is gonna kill wv
bcs sucks, at least they got the national championship right this time, though it was hard to fuck it up

Pulling for ND, WV, PSU, Texas.
I'll be happy if two of those win, but I doubt it.

Haha. Yeah, but FSU isn't the only team that limped into the BCS. I really think FSU has a legitimate chance to beat Penn St. If we were playing Ohio St or Notre Dame, I would say no-way. But I think this game will be pretty low-scoring and that bodes well for our struggling O.
By the way, whoever was complaining about the Pac-10 getting shafted: who is in the Pac-10 other than USC? Look at Oregon's schedule: Oregon St., Arizona, Arizona St., Washington, Washington St., UCLA , Cal and Stanford in conference; Houston, Montana and a Fresno St. with no wins against ranked opponents team out of conference?
USC is the real deal, but it was a shamefully low year for the Pac-10. Why should Oregon get rewarded for winning a cupcake schedule? I'd rather see Elon or Wofford get a BCS nod instead of Oregon. Granted FSU and West Va. definitely didn't deserve spots, but there are plenty of Big-10 and SEC teams that are more deserving.

Good point. There are a couple of conferences that don't even have conf. championships that get bids...

yeah but thats the way all the conferences should be ..no title games. it's only there to make money for the conference, and it allows teams like FSU and Colorado an opportunity at the BCS that they don't deserve. The Big 12 North shows no signs of improving either, so thats going to continue to happen in the Big 12, at the very least.
ucla and arizona st. are pretty good

ASU had a disappointing season. They lost five games, losing every time they played a ranked opponent. Kudos to them for actually scheduling a decent out of conference schedule, though. But still, five loses isn't very good.
UCLA, on the other hand, is a pretender. They have some legit athletes, no question, but their schedule was easy. Other than USC, they played nobody! None of their opponents even finished in the top 25. Not to mention they were raped by Arizona--badly. And their out of conference schedule (Rice, San Diego St. and a weeeeak Oklahoma team) wasn't much either.
It would've helped shape some serious opinions if UCLA and Oregon had played. I seriously would've like to see that game.

I'll give you the Big 12 North. But it would've been nice to see USC and Oregon play again; or to see Penn St. and Ohio St. play it out on the field. That's just me though. More games, the better. Who are your picks in the bowl games?

It would certainly be entertaining to see teams like that play again ..but I think it hurts the integrity of the game and it isnt fair to those who won the regular season title. If I had my way, every league would be one division ..and if there was a tie at the top, then you play another game.
As far as this season's BCS, I think USC will take Texas in a close one. I like OSU over ND by 2 touchdowns or so ..PSU over FSU big, and Georgia over W.Virginia in a close game.
And whats up with Boston College having to play in Boise!? NC State and Clemson are two teams we beat and have worse records than us, and they are playing in better games. :madfire:
