I have two bands I would like you to check out.. They are also both from around the same area; Buffalo. This part of New York is known pretty well for good, heavier music - It Dies Today, Everytime I Die, and Dead Hearts, (Ya, that's a whole lot of death so spare me those comments.)

Inferis (http://www.purevolume.com/inferis) has posted two new songs from their forthcoming EP on their pureVOLUME (http://www.purevolume.com/inferis) page. Burn It Down Media (Thin Dark Line, From First To Last, The Starting Line, The Spill Canvas, This Day & Age) will be doing the artwork. The band hopes to self-release the record in January 2006.

Speakerfire (http://www.myspace.com/speakerfire) from Buffalo NY, who are managed by Jon Salemi and Daryl Taberski from Snapcase fame, have been getting some label and producers attention as of recently. They are currently looking to work with a booking agent.

I strongly encourage everyone to check both of these bands out. Both have been working their asses off for quite some time now.

The new Inferis record is unbelievable. I wouldnt be suprised if it isn't self released.

I have experience with many bands from the area, and its a shame that the bands with the worst attitudes succeed. Its time for class acts like these two to prevail.

I can't say anything about Inferis - never heard 'em.

But speakerFIRE on the other hand, well...wow.
If you want to hear a band that loves to travel. These guys have perfected their sound so intricatly that hearing them live BEATS their cd. Their live sound is amazing. They aren't one of these bands that adds the synthesizer and melodic parts to their songs, only to have them computer-made for shows (ie. Panic! At The Disco). These guys have traveled 9 hours to Indiana twice in the past two months, and I've seen both shows. I work for a promotional company and they're one of the most dedicated bands I've met. These guys drive across the country in a broken-down trailer and sleep at stranger's houses in every state. Please do yourself and them a favor by checking them out. They're some of the nicest guys you'll meet. They love what they do, and they do what they love. If you have a chance, check these guys out live and buy their cd.

I'm not gunna lie, speakerFIRE is one of the best bands I've ever heard.

The first time I saw them I was amazed. I had never heard of them but after the first song I knew I had just discovered an awesome band. They became one of my favorite bands almost instantly. Everyone needs to check them out.

i must say, speakerFIRE amazed me. i found them on myspace while listening to another Buffalo based band and they were just amazing. blew me away. when i first clicked on their page i thought they were just going to be another mediocre band, but they were actually very good. this band definatly deserves some attention from record labels and their music should be respected.

I've known these guys for a few years now and consider them to be not only talented musicians, but exceptional individuals. It's been a delight to know them for as long as I have and to see them progress as much as they have. If any band from Buffalo deserves to get signed, it's Speakerfire. The band itself may still be considered new, but these guys are no strangers to playing music and dealing with everything that comes along with it. Each member of Speakerfire has been paying their dues for years in bands that have been extremely successful on a local/regional level. They've all learned a great deal through the years and have everything it takes to be successful. Hard-work ethic, passion, drive, sincerity, integrity, talent... you name it... they have it.

It's been a long time in the making.... but finally people outside of the Buffalo/Rochester area are beginning to take notice, and labels are starting to pay attention.... so it's just a matter of time before these guys blow up. And I couldn't be more happy for them. I don't even understand how a label could pass these guys up. Apparently you have to be completely generic, over-produced, and horrible to get signed these days?

Oh, and in true Buffalo fashion as soon as Speakerfire finally does get signed... all of the haters and nay-sayers will be sweating them. After all it does seem to be our local scene's favorite passtime.

I've been following Speakerfire since they were Wide of the Mark. The EP is incredible and their live show is out of this world. I HIGHLY suggest everyone giving them a listen, I promise that you will not be let down. Plus, they're a good group of guys, especially jolly ol' aaron.

SpeakerFIRE

These guys are amazing! they really know how to put on a great show. There sound is one of a kind and I can honestly say that they have the potential to go somewhere with their music. The lyrics are also awesome one of my favorites being "Everything you love ends up cold and buried, the truth is love is dissapointment dressed in hope and I dissapoint you oh so much"
Besides there music being nothing short of amazing, the guys are beyond nice...they know how to sell there music and actually love there fans. Go to their myspace check out when there coming to a place near you because they are one band you dont want to miss!

Speakerfire is truely amazing. I've probably seen them just about everytime they've played in Buffalo and they never cease to amaze me. They are basically one of my favorite buffalo bands. Although I do miss wide of the mark, they are really good.

If you near buffalo make sure you come to the christmas show featuring speakerfire, believe in you, this day and age, sleepaway, and standard of living on december 16th. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I'VE SEEN speakerFIRE twice at the CPAC in Indiana and let me tell you...

They are probably the MOST AMAZING band I've ever seen live. And I can really honestly say that (even over all of the more popular bands that I listen to). They absolutely adore playing their music, and they definitely LOVE to meet people; they are really nice people, on a side note. They LOVE to travel, obviously, considering they live in Buffalo and traveled all the way to Carmel, Indiana (which is directly to the north of Indianapolis)! They have a lot of heart and I strongly encourage you to check them out.

P.S. Atrophy is my favorite :)

I don't really know the other band, but I just listened to them quickly and they sound amazing!

Being a moderate local band concert goer, I am very particular in the bands that I go see, and I am very picky about who performs good, or who are guys screaming their asses off and just trying to look good but they are really going down hill. Speakerfire, when I first saw them perform really “widen my eyes”, as a band they are so talented, to what I think, they have perfect harmony, all instruments are in perfect tone, and even with their live performances, they really get the crowd going. I don’t think I have met one person say one bad thing about speakerfire, mostly what is heard is how amazing their live performances are, or how “sweet” their CD was. The band as a whole are 5 amazingly talented, hard-working musicians; that have great personalities and getting big with amazing attitudes to their fans as well to their friends. They definitely deserve everything they have received and so much more…and I wish them the best of luck in all that they do.

I went to see speakerfire open for punchline and i wasn't expecting a whole lot.

but after hearing them, I was completely blown away.

This band is truly great and I'd be nothing short of disappointed if they don't end up going far with their music.

They're original with a real good mix of great instrumentals and vocals with lyrics that really amplify their music.

High and by far, the best local band in the genre.

so first of all.. speakerFIRE is absolutely amazing live. they have performed twice at the carmel performing arts center here in indiana. and i am completely and utterly in love with them. i had the chance to go out to eat with them after the show and they are just amazingly and overwhelmingly down to earth guys. their music is the kind that sets you back to the times of nirvana and the smashing pumpkins.. which in my opinion ..is GREAT music. if you haven`t already checked them out you should.. you will easily fall in love. [[or at least i did]]:wow:

cant say too much about inferis. i have yet to hear them, but speakerfire on the other hand, i have had the pleasure to see.
please allow me to set the scene: a local concert in the middle of suburbian indiana (go ahead and have a chuckle if you would like...). a steadily growing scene nurturing such bands as self destructed dream, gwen stacy, and fifth street heist. and also the birth place of another group some may have heard of called haste the day. several bands had already performed to an average crowd of about 200, give or take, but then speakerFIRE took the stage. after their first song my jaw was on the floor. they were by far one of the best bands i had heard at this venue hands down. i wanted their CD, but there are downsides to being unemployed and bumming money off of friends for the price of tickets...but im sure it would have been amazing none the less.

if you get the chance i would strongly advise you to go and see the amazing-ness that is speakerFIRE
