Men, Women & Children

Men, Women and Children started with trading tracks from the Midwest to the East Coast. After months of exchanging songs we decided to be a real band. Then we did what all bands do--practice and write songs almost 24 hours a day.

We put our first record in 2006 and were lucky enough to do the bulk of the record with Mike Mogis. We also worked with Raine Maida, Jason Lader and Mike Sapone. The record was mixed by Gareth Jones and Alan Moulder.

Then we went on tour for over two years. We played with lots of bands such as Gang of Four, Metric, Kasabian, Forward Russia, and Klaxons. And once in Detroit our van was stolen. Wow, what a day that was. We still have scars from that day.

After playing about 300 shows, we decided it was time to go home, sip a cup of tea and start working on a new record. By this we mean, we got in our recovered van and camped out at a friend's house in Riverside, California for a whole month.

With all the commotion of being on a big major label, we thought it would be wise for us to bring it to the basement level and do this thing ourselves. We put microphones in bathrooms and sang in the shower...We didn't have to listen to anyone's opinion. We just let it happen. And happen it did. We called up Mike Sapone and he mixed the tracks. We are proud to let out these two new songs foreshadow what's to come in our full length. We like to think we learned a lot since the last time you heard us, so give it a listen.
