The Gallery was formed in a Massachusetts basement in 2005 to a young group of guys who were tired of mediocre song-writing and cookie-cutter façades. The group got to recording a self-titled EP of the first five songs they had ever written. This recording was completed in a mere five days during a winter vacation. Vacations became priceless that year as they could only play and record when bass player Dave Mozdzanowski was on break from school at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Meanwhile, now, singer and guitarist Brendan Cooney and lead guitarist Shea Brennan were each finishing their junior year of high school, and older brother, drummer Ryan Cooney was attending Bryant University. In a miracle of planning and preparation, the group that was spread over more than a thousand miles all came to South Florida in 2007. The move ultimately came from complications surrounding their former singer, Micah, when he was led to follow a different path just as the plan was realized. When Brendan decided to pick up lead vocal duties, all hope was not lost. The search for a replacement lead-guitarist began, and with abounding faith, Shea Brennan joined the team that summer, and moved with them in the fall.

At first, Brendan struggled with the pressure of new responsibilities, his confidence, and the faith it took for such a relocation. Drawing inspiration from these trials stimulated the main theme of hope throughout their new album. The Gallery somehow converted an almost inevitable break up into the fuel to write an undeniably mature album. Right about the time of the breakup, an entire new entity of faith, Boston-based Blue Duck Records, took stock in the group's potential by signing them.

Now, with a full-length album in tow, The Gallery is ready and willing to bring their unique brand of uplifting indie-rock to the masses. This 10 song non-stop sing along album, entitled "If You Know What I Mean", comes out on August 12th on Blue Duck Records. Engineered and produced deep in the equine backwoods of Florida by Andrew Wade (A Day to Remember), this album sounds as if 'Stay What You Are'-era Saves the Day were dancing with The Exit at a folk festival in Rhode Island, but don't let us tell you, have a listen for yourself.

"We are a band from Wilbraham, MA and West Palm Beach, FL. We recently recorded our first full-length album, and this summer we will be playing shows at home, in the North East. During the fall/winter we all live in West Palm Beach, FL to attend school. We appreciate you checking out the page, and would love to hear from you. If you want to see us in your area, shoot us a message and we will do our best to get there as soon as possible. Hope to see you soon!" - The Gallery

I enjoyed this album, but seriously, it can't be an accident how many bands sound exactly like this right now. The title track was my favorite until it got to the "chorus of dudes"
