The Billboard UPDATE: Speakeasy Tiger is no longer together. Look for Tavis Alley of ST's new project, Monroe Monroe. (www.reverbnation.com/monroemonroe)
In the Chinese calendar, 2010 marks the year of the tiger. For Speakeasy Tiger, this is a good omen as they make their national debut on the Vans Warped Tour. Their first full-length album was released in July of 2009. “One song in, and you won’t be questioning why the euphonic composition of Speakeasy Tiger has allowed them to truly take off.” (www.303magazine.com) The instant buzz surrounding their infectious sound propelled the group on several self-booked tours across the west, bringing their energetic live show to as many as possible.
The band is introducing a slew of new music with a fresh new voice: Katrina Stone. Given one listen, you’ll be singing along days later. Katrina leads a pack of diverse musicians from vastly different backgrounds that range from Tavis Alley’s metal guitar background to Pete Schmidt’s contrasting prowess at keytar and classical piano. Lauren Gale on bass and Lucas Gordon on drums bring the rhythm that dares your feet to stay put. It’s this combination of personalities and experience that allows Speakeasy Tiger to bring something new to the table.
Tune in to the band and you’ll know why this is the year of Speakeasy Tiger.
