Eulogies are releasing their sophomore album Here, Anonymous on April 7th through Dangerbird...
Dangerbird is an American psychedelic rock-band composed of Matthew Dilliner and will occasionally include guest musicians and friends on his recordings.
Matthew Dilliner also plays guitar for punk band, Holy Hounds and is the former-guitarist of the now-defunct Experimental-rock band, Deja Norm’al. Dangerbird has been all over the country living in any state that will take him in. He has previously lived in California, Michigan, Florida, and Virgina. Currently, Dangerbird calls Battle Creek, MI home.
Dangerbird had it’s beginnings in 2005, while Matthew was on tour with his band Deja Norm’al. He and Benji Myers (guitarist of Holy Hounds) spent a week living in the back of van in a state owned parking lot overlooking a lake in Lake City, MI. Every single day they would wake up and play guitar and write songs from dawn till dusk. Matthew and Benji would later take these songs and begin to perform them live and record an EP.
Shortly after the disbanding of Deja Norm’al, Matthew packed up his things and moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL where he attended school and surfed. While he was there, he continued to write his brand of psych folk music. Matthew, however, would not play another concert until the fall of 2007.
It was at this time that Matthew accepted a job working as a maintenance man for a church in Virginia Beach, VA and living with best friend and current Holy Hounds drummer, Matt Francis. While in Virginia Beach, Matthew continued to write and record demo tracks. Matt Francis also took on the role of drummer during this period. They even managed to play a concert at a country-western bar called Steppin’ Out.
In March, 2008, Matthew Dilliner returned to Battle Creek, MI and began writing music with Benji Myers again. These writing sessions were to become known as the basis for their punk band, Holy Hounds. However, Matthew never stopped writing the music that he loved. He continued to write and record until he was finally ready to to put out an EP and begin playing shows again.
Dangerbird has released one EP, I: The Divine Infinity (2009). A full-length LP entitled II: The Great Unraveling was announced shortly after.
