"Body of Land" is the debut solo album from Looking Glass Wars, guitarist and songwriter Brendan Rivera. Looking Glass Wars was named one of AbsolutePunk.net's absolute 100 bands in 2008. Body of Land touches on material similar to the sound of Looking Glass Wars but also combines new elements unique to this release. With 15 tracks varying from the driving and loud full band intro of "Miles" to the stripped down, acoustic guitar and vocals of "Faux Plastique" this album is not one to be missed.

Recommended if you like: Brand New, Alkaline Trio, Looking Glass Wars, and soulful yet technical guitar playing.

Got to see you today at a show. Was amazing to here all these songs acoustic, and the solo jam you did at the end of your set was amazing, would definitely want to see you again some time in the future.

Brendan Rivera's solo effort is one to be noticed in 2009. With a front side that's "full of excitement", Brendan reaches out to a deeper, more personal level than listeners have heard from the artist before. The back tracks are intimate with an acoustic sound that is touching, and yet simply melodic that leaves you yearning for more.

This is a great album. "Miles" is an incredible song, and may be one of my favorites of the year. The rest of the album is different, but definitely great stuff. I'll have to check out Looking Glass Wars too, if it's anything like the full-band songs on this album.
