Octopus started off as a vision in Orlando DiValentine's brain. The vision was to create music based on the book of Revelation from the Bible. He began to write and record using a simple Apple computer in 2005. Fast forward to 2008: Octopus begins to form as a band, with John Schneiderwent on bass, Robin McDowell on violin, Clint LaRue on keys/trumpet, and Matt Rhyner on drums. In the summer of 2008, Matt left, and Jake Jenkins took over drumming duties. At the same time, Nicholas Jones stepped in as a second guitarist.
The band has performed with national acts such as Houston Calls, Abandon Kansas, Weaver at the Loom, The Heyday, Spoken, & Windsor Drive.
Octopus will begin to record their debut album in September 2009, and will begin to tour after it's completion.
