Album ReviewHeartsounds - Until We Surrender

The Billboard
Heartsounds began shortly after the demise of melodic death metal act Light This City (Prosthetic Records), in which Laura Nichol was the vocalist and Ben Murray the drummer. The band had spent 6 years touring and putting out 4 full length records when they decided a change in musical direction was needed. Having been fans of melodic fast punk rock since they were much younger, the two decided to take some time off from the 10 month a year touring routine and write a full length record under the name, Heartsounds. Featuring 12 blistering melodic tracks of passionate punk rock reminiscent of the 90’s Fat Wreck Chords / Epitaph sound they grew up on, “Until We Surrender” is sure to please any fan of both punk rock and metallic genres of music. The duo blend the guitar chops and fierce musicianship of their years in Light This City with a new and simplified method of pop-oriented songwriting. However, clocking in just under 40 minutes, the record is far from simple in content, and is sure to appeal to forwardthinking punks everywhere.
