The Composure

The Composure is a band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band was founded in 2006 by Vocalist/Guitarist Paul Menotiades and Guitarist/Vocalist Jesse Hall. After adding drummer Cory Muro and bassist Andy Marks in late 2007 the band has spent 40+ hours each week in Paul's basement working on their sound. "We treat this band like a job, unless we have a show or a funeral to attend it is understood that we will practice" Menotiades says very matter of factly. Menotiades learned from experience at an early age that while practice doesn't necessarily make perfect it does make your band better. He started touring internationally when he was 16 with Punchline, considerably one of the most successful bands to emerge from Pittsburgh, PA. "When I started playing in Punchline I was still in high school..FBR signed us and we started touring constantly. I saw our hard work payoff and the benefit of doing everything you can do to be prepared with Punchline. Now I'm older and better poised..more composed if you will ha!..I'm confident that the hard work that we're putting into The Composure will come back to us in some fashion."

After posting some demos on their myspace page producer Marc McClusky contacted the band about working with them. After one year and 4 trips to Chicago, IL The Composure has recorded just about enough songs to release a debut LP. Somewhere along the line Engineer/Producer/Mixer legend Mark Trombino heard the Chicago recordings and offered to mix the tracks for the band. "We were sitting around after practice one day and decided to email Trombino on a whim..we didn't expect a reply. He wrote back the next day and said he liked the songs and would absolutely like to work on our record, we were completely stunned." Hall adds with a smirk. "We know it's taking a long time for us to finally release something but we want to do it right the first time, we believe the end result will be worth the wait." When asked for an estimated release date Menotiades offers, "This year man, this year."
