Sophomore, full-length release, Return of the Kebabulance, available now via Riot Music!
Biography:
Since the release of their debut album, 'Skankin' Sausages' on Do the Dog Music in 2004, Yorkshire 9 piece 'Catch-it Kebabs' have been touring across the UK, entrancing audiences with their frantic live show and super catchy songs, fluently swerving between blazing Ska/punk & peppy 2-tone to surging 3rd wave ska & sassy swingcore.
Formed from the ashes of several punk bands from across the UK, The Kebabs merge ska fundimentals with swing grooves and a punk idealogy, bringing to mind the rampant fusion of the Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Porkers, The Pietasters & The Cherry Poppin' Daddies.
Throughout 2005, the Kebabs played with some of the most illustrious names in the ska world including: Rico, The RX Bandits, The Toasters, The Pietasters, Chris Murray, Streetlight Manifesto, Zen Baseballbat and The Slackers to name a few, blowing up 2 vans and making loads of friends along the way.
The beginning of 2006 saw the Kebabs move to newly established label 'Riot Music', run by UK punk and ska CD merchant 'Alex Rooke.' The band have took time out over the past few months to work on their 2nd CD, the anticipated 'Return of the Kebabulance', which has now been recorded and is due out for release on Thursday 24th August 2006.
The band has also set off the process of starting their own label 'Feet First Records', their first release will be the second pressing of 'Skankin' Sausages' and a compilation to boot. Watch this space.....
With their big, bold, brassy melodies & a highly contagious live swagger, this Barnsley crew look set to garner many more fans from across the UK & the global ska scene.
