Far From Proper

Hailing from Poughkeepsie, NY, Far From Proper is a five-piece pop-punk group bringing fun back to live shows and music, in general. Consisting of vocalist Nick Harrison, guitarists Matty O’Rourke and Angelo Estrada, bassist Tyler Muller and drummer Jesse Walsh, the band formed in sophomore year of high school to play a talent show with three of the members previously knowing each other through a summer drama camp.

Sharing stages with notable acts from everyone such as Every Avenue and The Dangerous Summer to Rufio and Drop Dead Gorgeous, Far From Proper have held their own, winning listeners by making “sure our fans get the show they deserve,” says Matty O’Rourke. It was this dedication to a great live show that led their fans to vote for them as “Hometown Heroes” in the October issue of the nationally published magazine, Alternative Press.
“I think everyone should keep us in the back of their mind and give us a chance,” says O’Rourke. It will be hard not to keep this band in your head after hearing the catchy choruses, moving singalongs and fast-paced verses on their latest release, Talk All You Want.

The band worked hard to get into the studio, using the respect and help of their fans to raise money to record the six-song EP, emerging with a sound that is sure to fit in next to any Fall Out Boy or Taking Back Sunday record.
After releasing the CD in August and having their own CD release party booked, the band now hopes to take their act to the next level, touring regionally, then nationally and, in the process, get heard by brand new ears. They are confident that who ever watches them play will take notice of their strong dedication and drive to please every individual in the crowd... and how they seem to do it with such ease.
