The Billboard “Moving out west” is a staple statement of the American Dream. The glamour of the west coast has not failed to entice any of the members Move Out West. Being raised in Connecticut, it is easy to assume we enjoyed a comfortable and wealthy life. What isn't as quick to be realized is that not all of Connecticut is as 'gold' as the well known Fairfield County. The members all come from neighborhoods and towns surrounding Hartford, the insurance capital of the world that has been quick to fold under economic pressures during all of the members' lives. What's left is the monotonous lifestyle laid forth for themselves and those they grew up with. Graduate high school, go to college, get a decent job; this is not the “American Dream” they all had in mind. During high school and the beginnings of college, Move Out West learned a bit of perfecting their musical craft and exploring the touring world between multiple local bands striving to break out of the state. Following a short stint of Eben and Cyrus coming together to write acoustic demos, Brian and LJ signed on to complete the project. The band expedited the process of a new band, quickly launching themselves into studio work with the well-known and respected producer Ace Enders, formerly of the Early November. Ace and the band quickly found themselves eye to eye, seeking the same goals and finding a niche for their punk outlook on pop rock. Within one month of the band's launch, they have found themselves with numerous tracks produced by Ace and mixed by Paul Leavitt, their first show supporting a festival featuring Never Shout Never, multiple mentions on websites including absolutepunk.net, anywhere from 25-50,000 listens a day on iDobi Radio, and upcoming tour dates with multiple successful buzz bands in the scene they grew up supporting. These steps only act as a taste of the bands plan. They are still on their hustle, recording more songs, pushing their online market, and hitting the road to further the band towards making great music that acts as a platform to bring both themselves and their listeners closer to reaching their dreams
