The Billboard In early 2010, brothers Adam and Eric Markin decided it was time to grace the public with their musical talents. After coming to this verdict, they were on the hunt for other musicians to help them assemble their band. After an extensive search, the Markin brothers fell upon other Columbus-natives Tommy Parrill and Aren Carmen. All the pieces seemingly fell into place; the only matter of business left was the creation of a band name. The name “Dear Christie” came about when Adam and Eric were writing a birthday card to their sister, Christie. Once they read over the salutation, it stuck. Now having all members together and a name, the group fused together their musical talents to create their songs.
On August 31st, 2010, Dear Christie released their first 6-track EP entitled “First Things First”. It was an instant hit among their listeners and only showed the raw potential Dear Christie had. As the band celebrated the success of their first EP, a problem rose among the members. Aren Carmen was forced to disband from the group due to personal issues involving his own future. There was now the question of who would take his place, but the Markin brothers had the perfect candidate in mind. Cue the entrance of Tyler Rose, long time friend of the Markin’s who had years of guitar playing experience under his belt.
Now that the four-piece was complete again, things were looking up. With dreams of touring and sharing their music to fans across the world, the boys work their hardest to make those dreams a reality.
