The Billboard
Random Holiday was birthed in the spring of 2009 by four individuals (freshman in High School at the time) in Winchester, Virginia that enjoyed playing shitty blink rip off songs. The bands vocalist and guitarist Mike "Mr. Bigg Bigg" Frazier has stated; "We started the bands because we were bored and couldn't get girls to like us. Now we're just not bored anymore." The punk cortet played shows regionally and wrote bad songs the entire year of 2009 and 2010. During the band's junior year of high school ('11-'12) they released an EP in Decmeber of 2011 entitled "A New Hope". The EP gained moderate recognition; mainly among the band's family and pets. The band's lead guitarist, Noah Mullinax, says the EP "is a step in the right direction? It kind of sounds like organized music. Somewhat." The band "toured" that winter in the north. "Toured" is in quotations because it was only 7 days, 2 of which were near the hometown of the band, and one show was in New York City where the band played to a whopping 1 person. Miraculously, the EP gained enough attention for the band to sign onto Third Time Lucky Rekords in the spring of 2012. During said spring the band played more and more shows trying to spread their music. The band underwent some member changes that spring as well but stuck through it and toured the summer of 2012 down the east coast. This tour could be described as a "success" when compared to the previous "tour". As 2012 comes to an end and 2013 is near, Random Holiday is set to release a split and a debut full length. On the upcoming 2013 year, Mike Frazier has stated, "After what we have been through, I promise these songs we release will be better than the last. I'm starting to rip off bands that aren't Blink-182, so we'll see where that gets us!"
