The Billboard If it wasn't about friendship and the love of music, it wouldn't be worth doing.
Having dominated the Syracuse, NY music scene right out of the gate, Honor Bright is looking to make more noise outside of the northeast in 2008 and beyond. Starting on the local level in 2006, HB has packed the few upstate New York venues to capacity, drawing fans of bands like Taking Back Sunday, Mayday Parade and Fallout Boy. It's no surprise as Honor Bright gets regular comparisons to the multi-vocal intensity of TBS and the pop sensibility of Fallout Boy.
The self-released debut album "Build Hearts From Stars" was available June 3, 2007 and the band made a commitment to sharing the music beyond the New York faithful. To date the band has spent time on the road in a third of the US and has had their full-length delivered to 100 college radio stations through five states in the northeast. The hard work and promotion landed the CD on Aux Records, who released the Deluxe Edition of BHFS with two new acoustic songs and new packaging.
Having recorded the follow up EP, "If This Was A Movie" at Nada Studios with John Naclerio (credits include My Chemical Romance, The Ataris and Brand New) Honor Bright is ready to shine on the national level and is eager to tour in support of it's August 1st release. The band's hard work has earned their song "Home Is A Heartache", which features Justin from The Morning Of singing guest vocals, spots on two nationally distributed compilations which feature bands like Four Year Strong, Powerspace, Holiday Parade, and The Morning Light. Their incredible following voted the band into a spot on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour, performing on the Ernie Ball Stage along such well known bands as Forever The Sickest Kids and The Audition. The same day of the Warped Tour debut, Honor Bright was invited to perform on MTV's TRL, which they did alongside Never Shout Never.
Honor Bright has had the opportunity to play shows with the likes of: Cartel, Mayday Parade, Anberlin, Boys Like Girls, Four Year Strong, Envy On The Coast, Bayside, Powerspace, The Maine, Quietdrive, Brighten, and many other fantastic bands.
