Melbourne based band City Escape may have only begun just over eighteen months ago, but in their short time together have already established a unique sound and an enthusiastic following.
Their sounds has been likened to that of The Receiving End Of Sirens, Thrice and Further Seems Forever. This combination seems to have hit a chord with followers of the Australian music scene, leaving them in high demand for shows, playing sold out nightclubs and supporting Australian heavy weights including House vs. Hurricane, Closure In Moscow and The Red Shore, as well as international acts such as Thrice (USA).
The band started recording their debut EP ‘Avalanches’ in 2008 at Electric Sun studios with Dave Petrovic, who has recorded the likes of The Mission in Motion and House vs. Hurricane. The seven track EP is set to solidify City Escape’s rightful place in the Australian scene and displays the band’s talent and musicianship.
“we worked really hard on “Avalanches” over the space of a year, and can't wait to get it out there for everyone to hear. We’re really happy with the way it turned out and the sound really outdid our expectations”.
With the dedication and energy the band has put into their EP and the hard work they
Consistently apply to their live shows, no doubt they will definitely be a band to watch in
Not only will the EP be released in Australia, but the band has also secured a Japanese release through Garimpeiro.
