4 kids out of northern new jersey.
with the average age of 20,
and one of the members still in high school.
they play a brand of melodic punk thats different from anything i have ever heard. what makes this band unique are the subtleties in their musicianship. at first listen i noticed their raw sound and the aggression.but the use of jazz chording and extremely technical drumming (especially in the newest material) ,set it apart from anything i've heard in a very long time. the songs all have super hooky choruses impressive vocal range and bass playing that defies the genre they would get put into. odd time signatures and at times dark guitar work blend perfectly with the seemingly bi polar lyrics. alcohol ,apathy, drug use, self discovery, death, anxiety and apocalyptic imagery (the topics i notice the most) make the songs that much better. these guys can appeal to hardcore kids as much as they would to indie pop kids.music snobs and trendy types can share a common interest. remarkable.
at the end of their first recording session they lost their drummer, slowing them down considerably. after two months of being with out a drummer they recruited brian alvarez on the drums.
although this band is barely into its 5th month as an established band, they have done alot.
nearly 100,000 myspace plays,10,000 myspace friends, 2 compilations , the engineering and production of three of screamo/hardcore/punks best minds

thursday , taking back sunday, the bouncing souls, agnostic front, madball etc.),
"they came into this studio and played some amazing raw & powerful music. you know a band is good when brad blackwood who masters records for a living, is calling you up loving this band(astrophel) he just worked on,needing to know who he just mastered their names, site, everything! when they came into the studio kevin was doing the tracking. but once i heard them, this aggressive, emotional, catchy, proggy but still very heavy and raw band blasting throughout the studio,i had to mix their shit."
- arun venkatesh (tbs:tell all your friends, thursday : full collapse& war all the time)

praised by at this point thousands of kids all around,
and given the opportunity to play shows with jerseys finest young talent.
they've accomplished by pure word of mouth and persistent self promotion,
what most bands fail to accomplish after many years.
DO NOT be surprised when you hear them on your favorite college radio or local music shop."
