In 2005, Adam Bird (vox, guitar) and Eric Schnare (guitar) formed
Perfuma, and released its first EP,
'Humans Are Dangerous', on the now defunct label, RB Recordings. The EP was met with strong sales both online and at shows, and
Perfuma steadily built a strong fan base with touring and online promotion.
In 2006 & 2007,
Perfuma continued to tour, played the CD Release Party for
Sonic Youth's 'Rather Ripped', self-released a single for
"NEW YORK SUN" which trumped the sales of the previous EP, released a
Johnny Cash cover of
"FOLSOM PRISON BLUES" , and were joined by new bassist, Tucker. The tail end of 2007 was spent writing and recording the debut full length,
'Save Yourself', which was produced by Jesse Cannon, with Adam Bird co-producing. Dave Leto, of the band
Rye Coalition, took up drum duties (as he had on past recordings). The band also played its 2nd Bamboozle festival in between sessions and began licensing songs for use in television and movies. All of
Perfuma's past releases are now available for free download at

2008 will see the release of
'Save Yourself' and further touring by the band.
