The Billboard Plants and Animals have only released one album (2008's Parc Avenue), but that one album has garnered an awful lot of attention. The band has already been nominated for two JUNO Awards, and two GAMIQ Awards, and a Polaris Prize. This was no easy feat, however. According to the band's main website, the Parc Avenue sessions took an entire three years to complete. The band refined their tunes by jamming them out at live shows around Montreal until they evolved into the tunes on the album. The album was released in February of 2008, and it's still the subject of much attention. They played a great performance at Chicago's buzzmaking Pitchfork Media Fest, and now are working on the as-of-yet untitled follow up to Park Avenue.
